Refill Capacities

Maintenance Section The refill capacities for the engine crankcase reflect
the approximate capacity of the crankcase or sump
plus standard oil filters. Auxiliary oil filter systems will
require extra oil. Refer to the OEM specifications for
Refill Capacities the capacity of the auxiliary oil filter.

Lubricant Refill Capacity (1) These values are approximate capacities for the crankcase oil
sump which include the standard oil filters that are installed at
the factory. Engines with auxiliary oil filters will require extra oil.
Refer to the OEM specifications for the capacity of the auxiliary
oil filter.

Coolant Refill Capacity


To maintain the cooling system, the total cooling
system capacity must be known. The capacity of the
total cooling system will vary. The capacity will
depend on the size of the radiator (capacity). Table 3
should be completed by the customer for the
maintenance of the cooling system.

“Fluid Recommendations” for information about the
Illustration 25 g02300473 fluids which are acceptable for this engine.

General Lubricant Information


Because of government regulations regarding the

certification of exhaust emissions from the engine,
the lubricant recommendations must be followed.
