Problem Statement

Following area is required for Seismic Hazard Analysis. The area is located in Vicinity of a
Seismic Source. The area has been subdivided in to 4 zones as highlighted. Determine the
Seismic Hazard of the area against Known seismic Source for all four Zones. The return period
is required to be determined for earthquake with PGA > 0.4g. Solve the Problem using
Probabilistic Seismic Hazard analysis using Attenuation Relationships as discussed in Class.
Use Different Color Codes for each area such that the map cold be readily understood as per
expected seismic hazard.

The Distances from Center of Each Area are as follows.

A = 25 Km

B= 32 Km

C = 70 KM

D = 90 Km
