Object represent yourself: Puzzle

Describe your drawing and make a connection by discussing your thoughts and feelings about your
experiences during the quarantine period

I choose the object puzzle to represent myself during the quarantine period. At first,
I thought it would be easy. Only to find out that it was more difficult at times than I
would like. At the start of the pandemic, I am unaware and terrified of what was
going to happen. Along the way, you discover how strange and disturbing it really
can be because you see it with your own eyes. Then come those moments when
you get so frustrated and angry that you want to give up because it reached your
boiling point where you had enough and want to end it all.

I like putting jigsaw puzzles together. I found them to be time-consuming but at the
same time a great lesson in patience and persistence. What I like about them is that
they allow me to anticipate what to look for to find the other piece that would
connect with its compliment. I like the idea that every piece counted towards
making the finished product what a beautiful picture it was. Well, every piece of that
puzzle was important to have a finished product, the same is true with every human
trait that we possess. We have both positive and negative traits. We have things we
like and dislike about ourselves. We also encounter different challenges and
difficulties in our lives. I can still remember the times putting together a jigsaw
puzzle when it would be frustrating because I couldn’t find that one piece that
would fit with the other. Like when I am on quarantine, I find myself struggling to
adjust and extremely anxious about what’s going to happen. So, what I would do is
to look for the weird and strangest-looking pieces and connect those first. I will try
different things that will consume my time and distract me from all the news and
updates.

But as time goes by, I found it a little bit more bearable than it used to. I found my
pattern and found myself adjusting to the set-up. As months passed by, it almost
felt like it was normal for me or what they would call the "new normal." Like a puzzle
piece, I found myself longing and searching for my loved ones. But I also find ways
to cope and be brave enough to complete and survive the pandemic. With the help
of our front liners, I am thankful to be safe and healthy during these times. I am a
puzzle piece that needed to be completed, and with all the help of my family,
friends, and front liners I am thankful that I get to see the bigger picture like a
finished puzzle, of all the things that taught me to become a better human being.
