The YA Type Round Vibratory Screen
1. Uses
The YA type round vibratory screen is mainly applicable to those
industries such as coal, metallurgy, mines, thermal power plants, building
materials, quarry, light industry, chemical engineering and others, which
is a high efficiency screening machinery for grain size classification for
those materials in bulk such as coal, ore, coke and others.
2. Operating principle and design features
This vibratory screen is driven by a vibrator of eccentric mass via a
triangle rubber belt of the motor, to cause the screen box vibrate, the
moving locus of which is round.
This vibratory screen consists of a screen box, a vibrator, a damper
of springs and a supporting frame. As shown in Figure 1, the screen box
is of frame-type configuration, which is connected by rivets in groove
rings and which is of advanced design, solid and durable. The vibrator
consists of an eccentric shaft plus an eccentric block, with adjustable
amplitude of vibration. For the damper of springs it consists of the
steel-made spiral springs.

4. Erection, adjustment and running
4.1 Before erection ,check the fittings with the packing list to see if they
are complete and in good order or damaged, of which the vibrator
must be dismantled and reassembled with clean lubrication oil (after
removing the dirty lubrication oil ) if the vibrator has exceeded six
months since the day it was shipped from the factory.
4.2 Erection is carried out according to the erection diagram. The
supporting frame must be installed horizontally on the foundation,
which should have sufficient rigidity and strength to bear the whole
dynamic load and the whole static load of the vibratory screen.
4.3 At the four corners of the screen box there are 4 ears, one at each
corner. At the four corners of the support frame there are 4 hoist holes,
also one at each corner. As shown in Fig.1 the whole screen is not
permitted to be hoisted by directly hooking the ears.
4.4 Ensure there is 75 mm minimal clearance between the screen box and
the non-moving parts such as the hopper and bin.
4.5 Ensure that there is 10 mm clearance between the spring seat and the
friction damping board on the screen box according to Fig.2.
4.6 The damping springs can be chosen and installed as per the free
height to cause the springs at the left and right sides of the frontal end
or the rear end to get even as per free height, with error less than 5
mm. After the screen box is placed thereon, the surface of screen
must be kept horizontally between both the right and left sides.
Otherwise, the thin iron shims can be inserted between the spring seat
and the support.

306.Damping spring 307. Upper sub-seat of springs 308. Bolt
309. Trunnion of the screen box

4.7 The springs must be kept in verticality and the upper sub-seat of springs
must be kept in horizontality with the contact face of the springs. After
adjustment, the upper sub-seat of springs is fixed with bolts on the
trunnion of the screen box, which will become one by spot welding.
4.8 For the driving direction you stand at the feeding end, facing the flowing
direction of the materials and watching the position of the motor so that
you can drive it leftwards or rightwards. In changing the driving direction,
you can dismantle the rubber belt pulley of the vibrator from the balance
wheel and fix it again on the balance wheel at the other side.
4.9 Ensure that there is sufficient amount of adjustment for the tension of the
triangle rubber belt and ensure that the corresponding grooves of both the
rubber belt pulleys are corresponding with each other on their room own
plane.
4.10 After installation and adjustment an idle trial running should be carried
out for not less than two hours to reach stable running, without abnormal
noises and to meet the requirements for the amplitude of vibration and
the moving locus, with the maximal temperature not above 75℃for the
bearings.
4.11 Before trial running you must turn the vibrator by hand or in other ways.
You can start up the machine formally only when it is turning smoothly
-4-
without any hindrance.
5. Lubrication
5.1 For the lubrication of the bearings of the vibrator the diluted oil is used.
The oil will be changed after it works for 40 hours for first time in
operation. And thereafter the normal operating cycle is 800 hours
approximately.
5.2 For the quantity of oil injected into the vibrator, it depends on the size of
the vibrator. As shown in Table 2, if there are small quantities of oil drops
that drop out consecutively after taking out the oil-level inspection rod as
per Fig.7 then it indicates the oil quantity is correct. And in case there is a
large quantity of oil that overflows, then it indicates the oil level is too
high.

5.3 For the lubrication oil we recommend ultra-pressure synthetic gear

lubricating oil (Pinnacle Ep320 ) or GB 5903-1995 “Industrial Gear Oil”.
In case the ambient temperature is above 5℃ then No.90 oil is used. And
in case the ambient temperature is lower than 5℃ then the No.70 oil is
used.
5.4 As shown in Fig 7 the lubricating grease is injected into the labyrinth
groove between the sealing gland and the isolating ring for sealing. For this
we recommend heavy-duty ultra pressure lubricating grease EP2, No.2
ultra-pressure lithium-based grease or No.2 ultra-pressure lithium-based
lubricating grease GB 7323-1994 manufactured by America Oil Company.
6. Operation
6.1 Check the oil level at both sides simultaneously. If the oil level is too
high , it will cause the temperature of the vibrator to rise or the vibrator
to operate with difficulty. If the oil level is too low, it will cause the
bearings to get damaged too earlier.
6.2 Check the tightening degree of the total bolts and retighten them after
working 8 hours for the first time.
-5-
6.3 Check the tension of the triangle rubber belt to prevent the triangle belt
pulley from slipping in starting up or operation and to ensure the
alignment of the triangle belt.
6.4 Ensure there is clearance between all the moving parts and the fixed
objects.
6.5 The screen should be started up with no load. And it is only after the
screen is running smoothly and stable that feeding can begin. Feeding
should be stopped before shut-down. It is only after the material is
discharged clean from the screen surface that the screen can be shut
down.
6.6 The feeder chute should be close as much as possible to the feeding end
and should spread the material evenly along the whole width of the
screen, whose direction should be kept in the same direction with the
running direction of the material so as to obtain the best sieving
effecting .The largest drop from the feeding chute to the screen surface
should not exceed 500 mm so as to ensure the screen surface suffers the
minimal impact from the material.
6.7 As shown in Fig.3, the vibrator rotates in the same direction as the flow
of the material. In case of increasing the running velocity of the material, it
may increase the productive capacity, but lower the sieving efficiency. If
the vibrator rotates in the reverse direction with the flow of material, then
it will reduce the running velocity of material and lower the productive
capacity, but enhance the efficiency.

7. Maintenance and Servicing
7.1 This screen is shipped from the factory, with the lubrication oil in the
vibrator, also with corrosive resistance, being effective for three months.
In case it is in storage over three months, then the corrosive resistance
may continue to last three months once more if it is operating over all for
20 minutes per time. The old oil should be changed for the clean oil
before the screen is to work.
7.2 The air vent of the vibrator should be kept open without any hindrance
constantly. If it is clogged, the oil leakage may easily occur. In case it is open
without being clogged and the oil leakage still occurs, then the oil sealing
should be changed.
7.3 For the bearings the normal operating temperature should not exceed
75 ℃ ,and the temperature may be somewhat higher because there is a
process for starting up and then gradually turning into normal operation
for the new vibrator. But the temperature should be stabilized after
operating for 8 hours. If the temperature goes on too high, you should
check the oil grade, the oil level and the cleanliness of oil.
7.4 Ensure that the labyrinth groove should be filled up with lubrication
grease in it. In case the screen is operating at very dusty site, then the
grease should be injected into the labyrinth groove more frequently.
7.5 In case of changing the triangle belt, all the anchor bolts should be
entirely loosened for the motor so as to put the triangle belt conveniently
into the groove of the rubber belt pulley. It is not permitted to stamp the
triangle rubber belt with the rod or other material objects. The tension
and the tightness of the triangle belt must be fit; the rubber belt pulley
must be aligned. After the first adjustment is made on the tension it
operates for 48 hours and thereafter readjustment must be made on the
tension once more.
7.6 The vibrator is connected by high strength bolts with the screen box. It is
not permitted to use the common bolts instead of the high-strength bolts.
The tension and tightness must be checked up at regular intervals, at least
once each month. In the event any of the bolts gets loosened, it will cause
other bolts to get broken in scission and thereby the screen gets damaged.
7.7 For those locations that are connected with the endless groove rivets it is
permitted to use the high strengthen bolts instead of the rivets. There
should be no ash , oil , rust, scale and burr on all the contact faces or
-7-
holes.
7.8 For all the high-strength bolts, nuts and filling-in rings to be adopted ,
they must meet the requirement for “The technical specifications of the
high-strength big hexagon bolt, the big hexagon nut and the filling-in ring
for use of the steel structure.” During connecting the torsion must be in
complying with the following table:
Table.3
Bolt Diameter(mm) M16 M20 M22 M24
Torsion(N·m) 237 420 678 1007
7.9 In order to prevent the internal stress that is incurred by welding, usually
it is not permitted to carry on welding on the screen box and any of the
ancillary parts. In case welding must be carried out, it must be undertaken
by the skilled operator. Now, we recommend the following steps to be
taken:
7.9.1 In order to prevent the crack from being extended, perforate a 6 mm
hole on each end of the crack.
7.9.2 Slope is formed by shoveling with a round shovel at each side of the
crack.
7.9.3 Use a 3mm 506 electrode to preheat the crack up to 60 ℃
approximately and prevent any included slag and engagement.
7.9.4 Even out the crack at both sides by grinding then weld it with a
reinforcing plate over it.
7.9.5 In case welding is required at the cross bars of the support frame of the
screen face, then all the weld seams should not be in parallel with the
cross bars. It is not permitted to carry out welding laterally.
7.9.6 In case of AC welding the screen box should be earthed to prevent the
current from going through the bearings to cause the bearings to get
damaged.
7.10. In case of flame cutting, the stress may be incurred around the cutting
area and therefore we suggest that any additional holes should not be
perforated at the screen box.
7.11 There is provided with the damping rubber rods for special use between
the woven net and the support frame of the screen mesh, as shown in
Fig.4 In order to make the screen mesh reach the longest service life ,
the rubber rods should be placed properly in between. In case of
finding out the damaged damping rubbers, they should be changed
timely.

207 Guiding angle steel 208 Tightening board 209 Screen mesh

7.12 In changing the woven net and the screen mesh an equal clearance
should be ensured between the two lateral boards of the screen box and
the hooks of the screen mesh. In the first place, tighten the intermediate
pressurized flat steel and tighten the tightened boards at the two sides
simultaneously to keep the surface tension of the screen mesh evenly.
And knock at it lightly with hand hammer along the whole length to
check up the tightening conditions. In case the contact is not good or the
tension is not enough or uneven, it will cause the screen mesh to get
damaged too earlier.
7.13 The guide angle steel of the tightening board is adjustable. In installing
the screen mesh the guiding angle steel bolt should be loosened in the
first place to cause it to move upwards and downwards. After the screen
mesh is placed appropriately, give the tightening board a slight pressure
by the tightening bolt and then turn the guiding angle steel until the
screen mesh rests tightly against the support frame of the screen face and
then screw up the guiding angle steel bolt.
7.14 In order to tighten the screen mesh appropriately, the length of the hook
bar of the screen mesh must have the same length as the tightening
board.
7.15 In case the diameter of the mesh is less than 16 mm, the screen mesh
requires 20 mm more in length for lapping at one end, as shown in Fig.5.
-9-
(For each screen face there is a piece of screen face without outside lap in
length at the discharge end).

Fig.5 Lapping for the screen mesh

7.16 You must dismantle carefully the vibrator part by part from outside to
inside according to Fig.7 when dismantling the vibrator, to avoid
damaging the fittings unnecessarily. And you must use dismantling
device especially in dismantling the balance wheel, as shown in Fig.6.

Fig.6 Dismantling the balance wheel

1. Flat steel 2. Dismantling the core stem 3. Dismantling the bolt

7.17 For the dismantled fittings you must wash them clean one by one and
check up them carefully. In case of finding out any damages, you should
repair them timely or change them.
7.18 Assemble the vibrator according to Fig.7 .
7.18.1 It must be carried out under clean and tidy operating environment
- 10 -
whilst all the fittings for assembling must be washed clean , removing
all the burrs, without any damages that will affect the performance of
the whole machine.
7.18.2 It is not permitted to knock directly at the fittings with big hammer or
to assemble the fittings by compulsory means.
7.18.3 It is only after all the bolt holes are aligned correctly that they can be
screwed up tightly.
7.18.4 In case one bearing is damaged , then usually it will affect another
bearing and cause it to get damaged. Therefore, all of them should be
changed simultaneously.
7.18.5 In assembling the bearings , there is a” sill” on the inner surface of the
spring seat hole for the type YA110 or YA 170 bearing seat. The
bearing should lie against the lateral face of the sill, whilst the seat
hole is a thorough hole for YA110 type bearing seat and bearing
should be 6 mm distant from the outer surface.
7.18.6 The correct method for installing the “O” type sealing ring is to let the
sealing ring roll into the circular form.
7.18.7 In installing the bearing seat you must ensure that the oil plug is at the
bottom of the bearing. For convenient installation you may use two
long bolts to pull the bearing seat into the hole of the bearing sleeve.
7.18.8 A sealing cushion is installed at the sealing board to ensure this
cushion will not cover the groove of the returned oil for checking up
the oil level.
7.18.9 The oil in the labyrinth groove between the sealing board and the
isolating ring should be made become grease as much as possible.
7.18.10 In installing the sealing board on the bearing seat you should ensure
the hole for checking up the oil level is at the bottom of it.
7.18.11 After fixing the shaft in the vibrator you must check up the axial
moving distance, which should be between 2 and 4 mm.
7.18.12 Ensure the correct quantity of oil and tightening of the bolts.

8. Spare parts and consumables

For 1 to 2 screen , the recommended quantity is shown as Table 4. In case of
3 to 6 screens the quantity should double the recommended quantity as
shown in Table 4. And in case of 7 to 12 screens the quantity should treble
quantity as shown in Table 4.
