The better the communication between health practitioners and doctors with their patients
will increase the success rate in their treatment.
• why is it important ?
Solearso (2020) states that Health communication between patients and dental practitioners
is also important in maintaining dental health after dental care. Good communication between
patient and dentist is associated with increased efficiency and more accurate diagnosis,
improved patient outcomes and satisfaction and less likelihood of complaints or litigation.
(Waylen, 2017)
Some groups of people such as children and people with special needs must be served
with good communication, so that appropriate dental health services can be provided. (Stuart
et al., 2017) (Tseng et al., 2021)
“ At the time of the patient's dental care, good health communication can help improve
dental health results. Objective, concise, and clear communication to the patient is needed for
the steps that need to be taken during treatment to maintain dental health. I think if a dental
practitioner interacts well with a patient, the patient may form a positive impression of the
dentist, and the patient may indirectly promote the dentist based on that impression. “
