BÀI MẪU B1 SPEAKING

Part 2: I’m going to describe a situation to you:

a) A student from another country is coming to study here. He has
asked what he should bring. Talk together about the things he should
bring and say which will be the most useful.

A: Shall we start now?

B: OK. I think he should bring the camera because he can take pictures and tape
videos about his life in his new place. This will be a wonderful memory for him.
What is your opinion?
A: I don’t think so. You know, he has already had a smart phone and he can use
his phone to take pictures and video instead. What about the personal stuffs like
toothpaste, toothbrush, soap. I think he should definitely bring them.
B: Well, that sounds good. This will save him some money because he doesn’t
need to buy new ones in the new place. By the way, he will absolutely need to
bring shoes and clothes! Do you think so?
A: Good idea! You see, his clothes and shoes are quite new and if he doesn’t
bring them along to the new place, he will have to spend a lot of time and
money to buy new ones, which is very hard for a newcomer.
B: Sure. Let’s have a look at the tennis racket? He might need this one but you
know, he can borrow it from his friends. Moreover, he doesn’t play tennis.
What do you think?
A: That’s right. He needn’t bring it. Any ideas about the vehicle? Should he
bring them?
B: Well, i don’t think so. You know the vehicle is very heavy and difficult to
transport to another country. Besides, he will live near his university so he can
walk or take a bus.
A: I totally agree with you on that point. Oh, we forget the money. I think it is
the most necessary thing. Money is everything, he can buy food, pay the rent.
Do you think so?
B: Sure. Without money, he cannot study in another country. So we decided to
choose money as the most necessary thing, right?
A: Ok!
b) An English friend has to go to live in a very hot country for his work,
but he doesn’t like hot weather. Talk together about the different
ways he can keep cool and then decide which will be the best.

A: I will go first. I think he can keep cool by wearing short and comfortable
clothes instead of thick and tight ones. This will save him from sweating. Do
you think so?
B: I am not sure about that. When the temperature is high, short and
comfortable clothes don’t really help. What about sitting under the tree by
the river?
A: That sounds good. I mean, the trees will give him fresh air and wind to
keep cool. However, it is difficult to find such places where he lives. Why
doesn’t he use fan?
B: I don’t think it’s a good idea. The fan just can make him feel cool in a
short time and when it’s in the middle of the summer, fans don’t work
effectively. I think he should eat ice-cream!
A: Well, I don’t think it is a good idea if he eats ice-cream. I mean, it’s nice
but it only keeps you cool for a few minutes.
B: You are right! But he might enjoy it. It is the same with a drink.
A: I am afraid I couldn’t agree with you on that point. Drinking is good for
you when you are in a hot country. You should drink as much as possible.
B: True. What about taking a shower? A cold one would be good in the
morning and the evening. So is going swimming.
A: I think so too. I love showers when the weather is hot. I makes me feel
fresh. Shall we choose one?
B: Let’s go for taking a shower! Are you OK with that?
A: Sure!
Part 3:

I can see a woman. She is wearing a blue T-shirt with curly hair. There is a
hairclip on her hair as well. I think she is a teacher and she is sitting next to a
boy. I don’t know how old is he, maybe about 7 or 8. I think she is helping the
boy to write. She looks kind and patient. The boy is holding a pencil on his
hand. He is wearing a black shirt and his hair is quite short. There are some
books on the table and a lot of pencils in a pot. Perhaps, they are at school
because in the background i can see another child and woman. Also i can see
some letters on the wall. It is day time and the room looks bright and there are
some glass windows behind the woman and the boy.
I can see a man who is working on his laptop with his left hand and he is eating
at the same time. He looks a bit worried. I think he could be at work or maybe
he has taken his own laptop to a restaurant, and he is eating lunch. He is
wearing a white suit and a red tie and in the background, I can see some other
people who are also eating lunch. Perhaps it is a self-service restaurant at their
office. He is the only person with a computer, so maybe he is late with some
work. I don’t think it is very good for him to eat and work at the same time. He
should relax during his lunch break.
Part 4: Your photographs showed people looking and learning. Now i’d
like you to talk together about the things which you learnt best from your
family and the things you learn best from school.
A: Shall we start now? What do you learn best from your family?
B: Well, the thing I learnt best form my family is how to behave well. My mom
and dad always told me what was polite and impolite when i was a kid. What
about you?
A: Oh, that is really good. Me also. But the thing i learnt best from my family is
how to be responsible. You know, as a teen, i sometimes forgot to do the things
that i promised to do for my parents such as clean the house or wash the dishes.
My mom told me that i must be responsible for the things i had said.
B: Yeah, that is a really good lesson! That is thing things you learnt from your
family. How about school?
A: I learnt a lot from school, but the best one is about friendship. A good friend
always stands by you and support you through thick and thin. They can play
with you, have fun with you, study with you and even tell you whether you are
doing right or not. What about you?
B: I agree with you that a good friend always try to do the best for us. For me,
beside the knowledge of different subjects, school taught me how to set goals
and achieve them. You know, when i was at primary school, my study wasn’t
good because i didn’t know what i need to do and i was so confused. Then my
teacher told me what i need to do and how to do it. Gradually, i have made
much progress
A: Wow, that’s so inspiring! Both teachers and friends are the one who will
help us over troubles and make us a better person.
