Points for evaluation in the screening of residential architecture
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In the screening of residential architecture for
the GOOD DESIGN AWARD (Unit 11 and 12),
the following points are especially emphasized
as elements required for residential architecture,
which is a space and place for living,
based on the basic perspective of the GOOD DESIGN AWARD.

GOOD DESIGN AWARD 2021 Change Points

1.Submitting Application Confirmation Form
The applicant should download and print out the Application Confirmation Form
from the page of ”Application Confirmation Form List” after completing the application.
Upload the softcopy of Application Confirmation Form with the company seal or
signature of the company's legal representative through the the page of
”Application Confirmation Form List” before May 26.

2.Payment
After the deadline for applications, an invoice for the first screening fee will be sent by email.
Please make a payment before June 3.
If a payment is not confirmed by the payment deadline, the entry shall be disqualified.
In order to promote electronic payment,
in principle, all fees for this year will need to be paid by credit card.
If you are unable to use credit card payment,
please contact the G Mark Office to apply for bank transfer.

3.GOOD DESIGN EXHIBITION 2021

Due to the COVID-19, GOOD DESIGN EXHIBITION 2021 was discontinued this year,
and GOOD DESIGN BEST100 Exhibition will be held only for the works of BEST100.
The award ceremony will also be held online.

Change points from GOOD DESIGN AWARD 2020

1)Abrogate sub-conference venues for overseas (Taipei, Seoul, Hong Kong),
concentrate all the entries that passed the first screening at the Japanese venue
(Aichi Sky Expo, Tokoname, Aichi Prefecture) for second screening.

2)Abrogate the free registration system of interactive hearing

and adopt the method designated by the jury committee.

Vice Chairman of the judging committee,
Takashi Ashitomi and Seiichi Saito.
The screening is implemented with 90 leading designers,
architects or other professionals from Japan or overseas as jury members.
