Anthology Festival 2021 Digital Art Competition

Anthology Architecture and Design Festival 2021

19 – 21 March 2021 | Online Edition

01 | Introduction
2021| Anthology Festival Digital Art Competition
“REIMAGINE: Our City”

The development of modern technology is flourishing by leaps and bounds as

of late, and current events have catapulted society to catch up to this growth,
gradually blurring the lines that separate the real world from the virtual one.
Ordinary manual activities have one-by-one transitioned into their respective
digital counterparts. The things that previously needed travel or logistics to
accomplish have suddenly become more easily attainable at a press of a
button or a swipe of a finger. The act of doing has certainly become more
convenient in the presence of modern technology, and the same can be said
about the manners of human expression.

Art, in particular, has welcomed a new form of expression to its already

extensive library of means and methods – Digital Art. Taking advantage of the
intuitive nature of technology, ideas and concepts have started to come alive
like never before. Artists and designers are given more room to better
demonstrate their concepts in ways more comprehensible than manual
methods. Communication between makers and their target audiences have
improved as a result.

This year, Anthology Festival aims to champion Digital Art as a common

ground for everyone to communicate new-found ideas or eye-opening thoughts
through their own lenses. All digital artists are invited to pitch their vision of
their Dream City through digital art. What kind of City do you wish to live in?
How do you wish to change your current City? What makes you fall in love
again and again in the City you were brought up in? The Competition welcomes
everyone to share their insights and propositions about Our City.
