Learning Outline
1. Teacher reviews self-introductions by playing a game. 
Pre-lesson 2. Pupils sit in a circle. They throw a soft ball or piece of crumpled paper to each
other to ask for and give their names. (eg: My name is………)
1. Pupils open their books to page 5. Teacher plays the CD and have pupils point
to the pictures in the vocabulary section and repeat.
2. Direct ppls’ attention to the picture and displays flag flashcards to the pupils.
Say the name of each country and have pupils repeat after.
3. Teacher asks ppls what they can see in the picture.
Lesson Delivery
4. Play the song once and have ppls listen and point to the flags of the countries
mentioned. Play the song a second time and have ppls write the names of the
children as mentioned in the song.
5. Play the song again for ppls to check their answers and sing together.
6. Distributes A4 paper. Have pupils draw the Malaysian flag. Talk to pupils
about the colours and patterns in English.
1. Teacher asks pupils to practise introducing themselves using the flags.
Post Lesson 2. Play the song Friends from around the world (Track 3) and have ppls sing
along.

Learning Outline
1. Teacher puts up the pictures from the poem on the whiteboard. Pupils talk

can you see in this picture? What is the boy doing here?
1. Divide pupils into 7 groups. Each group will be given a stanza on a piece of
manila card/A3 paper.
Lesson Delivery
2. A representative from each group will come in front of the class and match
their stanza to the correct picture on the board.
3. The group members will then recite their stanza in front of the class.

1. The whole class will recite the whole poem together with the correct
intonation and pronunciation after all the groups have put up their stanzas on

2. Put all four pictures on the board, in an incorrect order and elicits the pupils.
3. Ask pupils to listen to the story and think about which order the pictures go in. Play the

Learning Outline
2. Teacher sticks the pictures of previous story of Charlie’s birthday surprise on the board
and elicits the pupils. Ppls open their tb pg 12-13 and teacher read/play CD 1 track 16
Pre-lesson and have ppls to follow along in their tb.
3. Encourage ppls to shadow read and some ppls to act out the story for the whole class.
7. Asks ppls to work in pairs and give 3 minutes to write down as many as sports they
know/remember. 
Lesson Delivery 8. The pair with most sports win. Have the winners say aloud. Other ppls give different
sports and teacher writes on bubble map on the board.
9. Directs ppls to the pictures in tb pg 14. Teacher asks ppls to describe.Teacher plsys CD
1-track 17 . Ppl listen and compare their answers.
4. Teacher asks ppls to make two cards similar to the ones in Activity 2 in Student’s Book.
They could draw these or could write the cards.
Post Lesson 5. Ask pupils to work in small groups. They play a game using their cards and the question
and answer forms from this lesson (Student’s Book, page 14), for example a guessing
