CARPENTRY
The traditional methods of construction utilizing wood as post have been superseded
by reinforced concrete column and steel structure.
The use of lumber in most construction is now limited to floor, roof framing, studs,
joists, ceiling and paneling. Lumber materials is fast becoming scares and costly despite of
its’ becoming inferior in quality for being produced from younger trees.
The most abundant wood and the cheapest construction material sometimes ago is
now considered a hot item commodity not to mention it’s prohibited like gold.
ROUGH AND FINISH CARPENTRY
ROUGH CARPENTRY
Rough Carpentry focusses on the framing of the building. This means the carpenter
are responsible for the wood or metal support system the make-up of a structures wall,
floor, and roof. Think of the frame as the building skeleton.
It is also includes’ construction of concrete forms, scaffolds and staging and
temporary frame shelter
FINISH CARPENTRY
Encompasses all work done inside a house after framing sheathing, wiring, plumbing
insulation and drywall have been installed.
This includes doors and windows installation, trim and stairs, fitting interior doors,
wood and laminate flooring installation wainscoting, crown molding and cabinet installation.
This also includes also basic functional items such as hardwood flooring or stairs. Most of
the skilled and specific finish carpentry work, however, is aesthetic.
