You are on page 1of 2

RULES:

1) 1 A player, 4 B players, no University players at any time in your squad, not just your 11.

2) Each game in the group stage is 30 minutes with no HT, in the semis and final the
games are 40 minutes long with 20 minutes half, 5 minute long half-time

3) There are 12 teams split into 2 groups of 6, each team plays each other in the
group once, 3 points for a win, 1 for a draw, and 0 for a loss

4) The winner of Group 1 plays the Runner-Up of Group 2, and vice-versa in the
Semi-Final

5) If two (or more) teams are tied in points in the group stage for 1st or 2nd
place, it will be decided first by goals scored, head-to-head, goal difference, then
alphabetically

6) If after 40 minutes a semi-final or the final is drawn, there will be 20 minutes

of Golden Goal extra time, followed by penalties if no goals are scored during ET

7) All players must have their purple card with them at all times during the day,
they will be checked by admin when they arrive, before your first match, with the
changing of the referees, and before the semi-finals if you make it to them

8) If a team has not submitted their purple cards before that to admin or not paid,
they will not be allowed to participate, and all teams will get a automatic 3 points

9) If there is a clash in kit colour as decided by the referee, the away team as
allocated on the fixture list will have to wear bibs (these can be collected from
admin or from the ones that I requested you to bring)

10) If a player accumulates 2 yellow cards or is sent off over the course of the
tournament, that will result in a one match suspension (the teams' next match).

11) There is a 10 minute break between each match on the pitches, if a team is more
than 5 minutes late (without good reason), the match will be forfeited to the other
team 3-0

12) At the end of each match, both captains need to meet the referee, who will give
you a scoresheet for the match. On that scoresheet, he will have entered players'
names with bookings or ones that are sent-off. The captains and the ref together
need to agree on the score, write it on the scorecard, and write the names of each
goalscorer. Once that is done, the winning captain needs to hand that to admin so we
can process it.

PITCH NUMBERS:

Pitch 1 is the University pitch closest to the tennis courts/main entrance to the University.
Pitch 2 is the University pitch next to pitch 1.
Pitch 3 is the College pitch farthest away from the University pitches (with goals and lines
ON THE DAY:

1) When you arrive for your first fixture (presumably at least 20-30 minutes ahead
of KO for warmup, etc.), each captain must sign in with admin (who will be under the
tournament pavilion by the Uni pitches).

2) With you you must bring each of their players' purple cards to get checked. If any
players are showing up late, send them to admin with their purple cards before they
play. You will also receive a personalized fixture list.

3) Before your first match, possibly while you warm up, your allocated referee will
check purple card numbers against a squad list for each of your players. This means
that your players will have to get their purple cards and show the ref individually
for face recognition.

4) All teams have space to warm up on the college pitches that have no goals on
them. As soon as each final whistle blows on the games before yours, if the next
teams go onto the pitch straight away so we can keep the tournament on schedule.

OTHER THINGS:

1) I will provide 3 matchballs, one for each pitch. However, if you could bring your
own for warm-up and as extras that would be appreciated.

2) I have orange bibs for any kit clash, but if any other team has another colour,
please bring it with you just in case.

3) There will be burgers, hot dogs, and drinks for sale on site, so tell your team
to bring spare change for lunch/snacks. It will be 1.75 for a hotdog, 2 pounds for a
burger, and 80 pence for a softdrink or bottle of water.

4) There are ways around the B and A player allocations of course, but for
everyones' sake lets try and be honourable and not cheat our way to winning the cup.
Theres no money involved, so there really is no need to do so.

5) There will be a trophy and medals for the winners, medals for the runners-up, a
award for the top goalscorer, and for the man of the match in the final

6) Depending on what happens during the day, the losing teams in the semi-final can
play a 3rd vs. 4th play-off if they want to, but there will be no award for the
