Testing a Leaf for Starch

Number the sentences to order the steps in testing a leaf for starch.

Carefully remove the leaf from the water and place in a boiling tube
containing ethanol.
With forceps, remove and wash the leaf, place the leaf on a white tile
and add a drop of iodine.
Boil a beaker of water and place the leaf in the boiling water for two
minutes.
Place the boiling tube in a beaker of hot water and wait until the
ethanol has turned green. This means that the chlorophyll has been
removed from the leaf.

If starch is present, the iodine will turn blue/black.
