II. Write a short introduction, about 100 words, about a famous author (like W.
Shakespeare, D. Defoe, W. Wordsworth, G. G. Byron, Charles Dickens…) (2 points)
Note: Teachers should choose ONE particular author in their test, not to keep the
requirement above unchanged.
The right answer for the question above should include the author’s life and works,
signposts in their careers, and some special things if available.
As usual, we will choose one story for the student to build its plot diagram. The diagram
should be the one given by Tham and Stephanie in their former tests (with 10 blanks of
terms and events in the story development.
IV. Writing (3 points): Write a 300-word essay to show off what you understand about
the poem. (Take care of rhyme scheme, personification, metaphor, simile, alliteration,
assonance, consonance, meter, etc.)
In their writing, it is necessary for the students to make clear about the significant and
typical characteristics of the period which the poem occurred. The teachers are
compulsory to express this in their tests, certainly depending on the poem they choose for
their students.
