explain the best solution choice (advantage) to the problem and why the
other solutions are rejected (disadvantage) for the minimum of 3 to 5

By the end of the lesson, pupils will be able to explain and justify to another
pair the advice that their earlier partner has given them to solve their problem
in about 3 – 5 sentences (minimum)

NOTE 1
 Pupil A has a problem and will use the information on page 188 to explain the situation to Pupil B. Pupil B
will find out what the situation is by asking the questions on page 13. Pupil A must tell Pupil B three things:
What the problem is, what some possible solutions ae and disadvantages of each solution. Once Pupil B
has received all of the information from Pupil A, he / she must give Pupil A advice on the best solution and
also why it is the best solution. In addition, Pupil B must explain why he / she rejected the other solution
 Make sure pupils understand the mechanics of the task as it is quite difficult to grasp at first. (if necessary,
ask a proficient pupil to explain in L1)
 Pupil A will have to make slight changes to some of the information on page 188. For example:- Your
friend…  My friend…; Tell her to start…  I could tell her to start…; tell her to join…  I could tell her to
join…

NOTE 2
 The pictures for the task are on page 188 and the information about the problem is on page 191
 Pupil B has a problem and will use the information on page 191 to explain the situation to Pupil A. Pupil A
will find out what the situation is by asking the questions on page 188. Pupil B must tell Pupil A three things:
What the problem is, what some possible solutions ae and disadvantages of each solution. Once Pupil A
