There are so many departments in a hospital, especially general hospital.

For a patient, it is essential to know what different hospital departments do
because this will help him have the best treatment and it would save his time
which the doctor can use to cure himself. For example, when you get a terrible
stomachache, you will know to have to go to gastroenterology department
instead of cardiology.
As a doctor in the future, I think it is more important to know functions of
different departments because this will help me choose proper speciality. Also,
when a patient is admitted to hospital, I can send him to the correct
department for proper treatment. When I treat a patient who have multitrauma,
I will know to cooperate smoothly with other specialists in no time to give
patient the best treatment.
