1. Start with a description of the business, including mission statement and overall intent. Include
goals, the organization of the business, the product or services provide with branding, and the target
market.
2. Outline results of maker research, including identification of target market customer,
demographic and profiles, market influence, economy, competition, customer satisfaction and
identification of strengths and weaknesses the business may face.
3. Set pricing based on business and manufacturing costs, break-even point, profit analysis,
competitive pricing and the amount buyers are willing to pay.
4. Include profits of your target market, including demographics, their habits, qualities valued by
customers, potential customers not being currently reached, ways to reach these customers and any
changes might want.
5. Analyze the competition based on talking to their customers, visiting their business, and checking
out their websites. Find out about their products, branding, advertising, and marketing. Pinpoint how your
product or services differs.
6. State goals that create a defined marketing direction. Plan aims that outline specific action that
will achieve goals. Be as specific and realistic as possible and describe how you will measure attainment
of aims and goals.
7. Make plan to put objectives in action to attain goals. For example, if your goal to increase product
reorders by 25 percent in the next year, make an objective to conduct clients by phone or email within one
month of sales, offering a return- order discount.
8. Define your company’s distribution method such as direct sales, wholesale, print, mail
telemarketing, advertising, networking, internet, marketing or a direct sales force.
9. Create a marketing budget, such as a specific percentage of revenue or a particular portion of
your annual budget. Every product or services needs a budget. Determine how many products or services
you will need to sell to make a profit.
