spelling, grammar, speaking, and writing. Students will distinguish and identify the beginning, middle and
ending sounds of letters in words. They will recognize words while reading by using context clues. Read
passages fluently with appropriate changes in voice, timing and expression. Tell the difference between facts
and opinion, realism and fantasy. Enrich vocabularies and spell words correctly when writing sentences and
practiced writing skills by producing informal writings (e.g., messages, journals, friendly letter, and simple
poems) for various purposes that convey clear messages. Students will also use correct subject and verbs
that are in agreement to construct sentences. During role plays, show and tell, and oral presentations,
students will speak clearly and coherently.
This is to make sure that instructional emphasis is placed on the right skills at the right time and to maintain
