● This assignment is an Individual report and specifically.
● You must use font Calibri size 12, set number of the pages and use multiple line spacing at 1.5.
Margins must be: left: 1.25 cm; right: 1 cm; top: 1 cm and bottom: 1 cm.
● You should use in text references and a list of all cited sources at the end of the essay by applying
Harvard referencing style.
● The recommended word limit is 2000-2500 words (+/-10%), excluding the tables, graphs,
diagrams, appendixes and references. You will not be penalized for exceeding the total word
limit.
● The cover page of the report has to be the Assignment front sheet 1 (to be attached with this
assignment brief).

Assignment scenario
You are working as a business analyst at VCBF, a Vietcombank Fund, a Vietnamese company. Your
direct supervisor asks you to deep research the companies carrying out business in Vietnam, with
respect to types, sizes and scope, functions and organizational structures for the investment plan of the
company in 2020-2025.
Your task is to make a report of what you have conducted for the research as in the following themes:
Bạn đang làm chuyên viên phân tích kinh doanh tại VCBF (Vietcombank Fund), một công ty Việt Nam.
Người giám sát trực tiếp của bạn yêu cầu bạn nghiên cứu sâu về các công ty đang hoạt động kinh doanh
tại Việt Nam, về loại hình, quy mô và phạm vi, chức năng và cơ cấu tổ chức cho kế hoạch đầu tư của
công ty trong giai đoạn 2020-2025.
Nhiệm vụ của bạn là làm một báo cáo về những nội dung sau:
Structure of the Report

1. Introduction of the purpose and main contents of the report from the perspective stated in the
scenario.

Giới thiệu mục đích và nội dung chính của báo cáo dựa trên góc nhìn được nêu trong kịch bản phía
trên.

2. Explain the main characteristics of the types, and the purposes of various sector of business
organization with different legal structures:

 Private sector: sole trader; partnership; “registered” limited companies;

 Public sector;
 Voluntary sector

For each sector, you must give one example at least for each sector and prove that the selected
companies belong to these corresponding sectors; and explain if any companies grows globally.

Đối với mỗi lĩnh vực, bạn phải đưa ra ít nhất một ví dụ và chứng minh rằng các công ty được chọn
thuộc các lĩnh vực tương ứng này; và giải thích xem có công ty nào phát triển trên quy mô toàn
cầu hay không.

3. With the specific company in Vietnam (each student must choose different company from other
members in class), an explanation of size and scope of the chosen company is given as follows:

For the size of the chosen company, you must demonstrate the data about: (i) the number of total
equity and total owner’s equity; (ii) the total revenue in the latest balance sheet in 1 fiscal year;
(iii) the updated total employees.

Using the data, the student needs to point out the size of the company: micro, small, medium or
large according to Vietnamese regulations.

For the scope of the chosen company, you must identify the “stakeholders” and the vision and
mission and explain how the vision and mission meets the need of the stakeholders.

(P2) Với công ty cụ thể tại Việt Nam (mỗi sinh viên phải chọn công ty khác với các thành viên
khác trong lớp), giải thích về quy mô và phạm vi của công ty đã chọn với những nội dung sau:

Đối với quy mô của công ty đã chọn, bạn phải chứng minh dữ liệu về: (i) tổng lượng vốn và tổng
vốn chủ sở hữu; (ii) tổng doanh thu trong bảng cân đối kế toán gần nhất trong 1 năm tài chính; (iii)
tổng số nhân viên cập nhật gần nhất.

Sử dụng dữ liệu, sinh viên cần chỉ ra quy mô của công ty: siêu nhỏ, nhỏ, vừa hay lớn theo quy định
của Việt Nam.

Đối với phạm vi của công ty đã chọn, bạn phải xác định “các bên liên quan”, tầm nhìn và sứ
mệnh, đồng thời giải thích tầm nhìn và sứ mệnh đáp ứng nhu cầu của các bên liên quan như thế
nào.

To enhance the statement, you had better analyse whether the legal structure; the size and scope of
the chosen company are suitable for achieving specific objectives of the company and products or
services of the chosen company. The statement becomes much worthy if the student performs
critical analysis of the complexities of various organizations.

 phạm vi của công ty được chọn có phù hợp để đạt được các mục tiêu cụ thể của công ty và các sản
phẩm hoặc dịch vụ của công ty đó hay không. Bài báo cáo sẽ trở nên giá trị hơn nhiều nếu sinh
viên thực hiện phân tích phê bình về sự phức tạp của các tổ chức khác nhau.

4. An explanation of the functions of the chosen company (using the chosen company’s structure
chart) to show the relationship between these functions and how these functions link to the chosen
company’s structure and objectives. To be in detail:

- Firstly, organizational structure chart of the chosen company needs to be given;

- Secondly, you explain the main functions of various key departments and the how they work
together to achieve the objectives of the company (a specific fact is given).

(P3) Giải thích về các chức năng của công ty được chọn (sử dụng biểu đồ cơ cấu của công ty đó)
để chỉ ra mối quan hệ giữa các chức năng này và cách các chức năng này liên kết với cơ cấu và
mục tiêu của công ty. Chi tiết như sau:

- Thứ nhất, cần đưa ra sơ đồ cơ cấu tổ chức của công ty đã chọn;

- Thứ hai, bạn giải thích các chức năng chính của các bộ phận quan trọng khác nhau và cách
chúng làm việc với nhau để đạt được các mục tiêu của công ty (cho ví dụ cụ thể).

To demonstrate the statement, you should analyse how the organizational structure (even for
international level) affects the way the departments work together. The statement becomes much
worthy if the student presents critical analysis of the complexities of organizational structure.

(M2 & D1) Để tăng tính thuyết phục, bạn bạn nên phân tích cơ cấu tổ chức (thậm chí đối với cấp
quốc tế) ảnh hưởng như thế nào đến cách các bộ phận làm việc cùng nhau. Bài báo cáo sẽ trở nên
giá trị hơn nhiều nếu sinh viên thực hiện phân tích phê bình về sự phức tạp của các tổ chức khác
nhau.

5. A conclusion to summarize all the key findings and analysis must be presented. Plus, it should
address whether the chosen company is a suitable investment choice.
