Webinar Structure

Summer Internship Webinar series of 5 days (2 hours daily) were organized and hosted by
Vidya Prasarak Mandal’s Polytechnic, Thane, from 2nd August, 2021 to 6th August, 2021,
with coordination from staff of Information Technology and Computer Engineering
Department. Alumni of the organization were invited as speakers. In the end, quiz for every
session was taken.

Day 1: (02/08/2021)
Session1: (10.00 am to 11.00 am) What Students should expect from Internship by Mr. Satish
B. Mahajan (GM-IT, VFS Global Services Pvt. Ltd. Mumbai)
Overview and Topics of Discussion:
Mr. Mahajan opened the webinar by providing an overview of proper definition of what
an intern exactly mean, responsibilities of an intern, what exactly an intern does. The key
takeaways are:
Assist and contribute to the team – Performing clerical duties, managing social media
and emails, event handling, research.
Learn and gain experience – Picking up hard skills, brushing up your soft skills
Start with Job Shadowing. Then gradually increase amount of responsibility and work.
Increase network with the people who can shape your career. Finally, make a career-
defining decision.

Session 2: (11.00 am to 12.00 am) Software Project Development by Mr. Nitesh


Tawade (Manager, BNP Paribas, Mumbai)

Mr. Tawade started with introduction. He gave us information about SDLC (Software
Development Life Cycle) and its phases. He continued with stating information about CI/CD.
The key takeaways are:
Phases of SDLC – Project Initialization, Requirement Analysis, Design, Construction,
Testing, Installation/Deployment, Maintenance.
Benefits of CI/CD – Enhances “Quality at Speed”, Improve time-to-market, Improved code
quality, Automate tedious tasks, Reduce regression testing effort, Easier test logs
archiving. This will us help in improvised implementation of software projects.

Day 2: (03/08/2021)
Session1: (10.00 am to 11.00 am) Artificial Intelligence by Mr. Mahesh Yadav
(Associate Consultant, Tata Consultancy Services, Pune)
Overview and Topics of Discussion:
Definition, types, history, working, applications, relating applications of AI were stated by
Mr. Yadav. The key takeaways are:
We became acquainted with the definition of AI defined by different major companies
like IBM, Accenture, Oracle and AWS Amazon. Information about major AI projects in
history was known. Vast applications of AI include Database, Cloud Computing,
microprocessor, mathematics, etc.

Session 2: (11.00 am to 12.00 am) Web Scrapping by Mr. Mukul Tilak (SWE,
Veritas Technologies, Pune)
Overview and Topics of Discussion:
Information about what Web Crawlers are, how they are used, their policy, botnet and
protection was explained by Mr. Tilak. We got acquainted with why web crawlers are
actually used for. Major software/website features like price comparison, data analysis
use this technique.

Day 3: (04/08/2021)
Session1: (10.00 am to 11.00 am) Digital Marketing by Mr. Rajan Shukla (Director,
Accunity Services LLP, Mumbai)
Overview and Topics of Discussion:
Mr. Shukla started with stating the difference between traditional way and modern way of
digital marketing. Major takeaway point was importance of digital marketing which
includes increase customer loyalty with frequent communications, engage the customer at
every buying stage, target the right audience, accurately measure all results, gain brand
credibility.

Session 2: (11.00 am to 12.00 am) Web Development by Mr. Kiran Bhor (CEO,
Accunity Services LLP, Mumbai)
Overview and Topics of Discussion:
Mr. Bhor presented different technologies to choose from as well as some trends and
some guidance. We got familiar with popular languages used for frontend, backend, full-
stack framework, Web App, APIs, Client Side, MVC Framework, etc. Various tools for
version control, repo manager, package manager and module bundler were specified.

Day 4: (05/08/2021)
Session1: (10.00 am to 11.00 am) Network Security in IoT by Ms. Priya Pallavi
Jitendra Vaity (Sr. Software Engineer, Wipro Ltd., Banglore)
Overview and Topics of Discussion:
Topics covered were need of security, protection of IoT devices, industry practices, Peagasus
– case study. We understood various IoT terms about protecting our devices like AAA and
SSL, about web security such as anti-CSRF, anti-XSRF, anti-XSS, HTTP Session and Cookie
Management, Click jacking and OWASP Top 10.

Session 2: (11.00 am to 12.00 am) Cyber Security by Mr. Swapnil Kulkarni (PCI,
QSA, ControlCase International Pvt. Ltd., Mumbai)
Overview and Topics of Discussion: Topics covered were elements of cyber security, types
of network security and protections, mobile security, application security, cloud security,
Wi-Fi security, types of attacks and career paths.
We realized the probability of the threat that can be caused by cyber-attacks all over the
world and the exposure of personal information. Hence, we should create awareness
about why we should protect our devices from such harmful attacks.

Day 5: (06/08/2021)
Session1: (10.00 am to 11.00 am) Machine Learning by Mr. Chinmay Gadkari
(Data management Software Engineer, Infosys, Melbourne)
Overview and Topics of Discussion:
Mr. Gadkari briefed us with terms like AI, ML, DL, history, types of ML, limitations of ML,
ANN, career options and skills required for the same. Importance of AI for feature
development includes speech-to-text, object detection, recommendation system, etc.

There, Life of a Corporate Retd. As Business Head-Philips, Mumbai)
Overview and Topics of Discussion:
Mr. Datye narrated his life story and struggles in his corporate life. We were greatly inspired
by listening to his way of looking towards life in a simple way, with no expectations and only
hard work. He guided us how to be mentally strong and not giving up because of society’s
opinion and judgments, how to not live up to other’s expectations but for our self-growth.
His thoughts towards living of life makes me feel motivated and inspired. I also learned that
when we like something and when we do it by our heart, we never feel tired. We have to
just to be focused and determined in whatever we are doing cause at the end of day, will
power is the thing which keeps us alive.
