Quell system

starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Quell_system

"Parts of the ship's sensor array tower, which the Seps usually mounted aft rather than
forward, appear to have come from the cruiser Lucid Voice, which saw action at Quell,
Ryloth, and in a couple of other contested systems."
―An Imperial technician, to Moff Wilhuff Tarkin

The Quell system was located in the Outer Rim Territories and contained the planet Quell.
Throughout the Clone Wars, the star system was heavily contested by both of the war's sides'
respective forces, including the Separatist Providence-class Dreadnought Lucid Voice.

In 21 BBY, during the war, Quell served as the site of an engagement between a Galactic
Republic task force led by Jedi General Aayla Secura and a Confederacy naval squadron
commanded by T-series tactical droid TF-1726. During the battle, the Confederacy was able
to inflict heavy casualties upon the Republic's forces, while also claiming victory in the end.

Description
The Quell system was located in the distant reaches of the galaxy,[5] in the regions known as
the Outer Rim Territories[1] and the New Territories.[2] Situated in grid square Q-6 on the
Standard Galactic Grid,[3] the star system contained the planet Quell, which was located in its
far reaches.[1]

History
"Hurry, Skywalker. We're depending on you."
―Aayla Secura, as her forces begin to suffer heavy casualties

Throughout the Clone Wars fought between the Galactic Republic and Confederacy of
Independent Systems, the Quell system was heavily contested by both of the warring factions'
forces, which included the Confederacy's Providence-class Dreadnought Lucid Voice.[4]

During the war,[1] in 21 BBY,[6] the upper
atmosphere of Quell served as the site of a battle,
where a Republic task force of Venator-class Star
Destroyers led by Jedi General Aayla Secura was
assaulted by a Confederacy naval squadron[5] of
Munificent-class star frigates commanded by the T-
series military strategic analysis and tactics droid A squadron of Separatist Munificent-class
TF-1726.[1] star frigates advances on Aayla Secura's
flagship during the Battle of Quell.
During the battle, which led to heavy Republic
casualties that included the loss of all three of Secura's Star Destroyers, the Jedi Master
managed to escape the destruction of her flagship, the Liberty, as well as the battle with the
help of fellow Jedi General Anakin Skywalker; his Padawan, Ahsoka Tano; and Clone Captain
CT-7567. Arriving in the Quell system aboard their Venator, the Resolute, in order to aid in
Secura's engagement with the Separatist squadron, Skywalker used a rescue frigate to dock
with Secura's starship and retrieve her before its destruction. However, during the Jedi
escape from the Star Destroyer, the frigate suffered damage, which resulted in the activation
of its hyperdrive and subsequent jump through hyperspace to the planet Maridun.[1]

The Battle of Quell was an unqualified victory for

the Confederacy, and it revealed that the Republic
initially struggled to maintain control in the Outer
Rim, a region where acts of separatism had
flourished by that time. Furthermore, the battle
proved that the Republic's ultimate triumph in the
war would not be easily won.[5] Anakin Skywalker's Venator-class Star
Destroyer, the Resolute, races to help Aayla
Secura in the Quell system.

Behind the scenes

The Quell system first appeared in "Jedi Crash,"[1] the thirteenth episode of the first season of
the Star Wars: The Clone Wars television series, which aired on January 16, 2009.[7] The
system was identified in the episode's opening newsreel.[1] The episode's script described the
Battle of Quell as taking place within space around Quell, but the engagement was instead
moved to the planet's upper atmosphere for dramatic effect as the show entered pre-
production.[8]
