Opening Activities

1. Warm-up activity: The kids sing with me the song “Hello! Hello!” and “walking! Walking!” I play
the audio track on my speaker. (10 min)
2. Review: Using the flashcard of a clown the kids review with me the correct recognition and
pronunciation of colors. (5 min)

Middle Activities

3. Grammar: It’s + (color). I write on the board the phrase “It’s” and next to it I paste the flashcard of
a color. I point the phrase and the flashcard of the color and say the sentence. Then I ask kids to
repeat with me and after that I point the phrase and the color and ask kids to say the sentence by
themselves. Later, I ask them to copy the two sentences in their notebooks. (10 min)

4. Speaking: Point and say the colors. I paste on the board the six colors studied so far. I explain
to kids that I am going to choose some of them at random to pass to the board and point and say
the colors using the grammar “It’s + (color).” I give them help if necessary. (10 min)

Closing Activity

5. Listening: Listen and color the toys. I paste in the kids’ English notebooks a piece of paper
containing four toys (teddy bear, ball, scooter, and top). I explain to kids that I am going to
describe each toy by saying the color of each one. I ask them to listen to me carefully and color.
(10 min)

Opening Activities

1. Warm-up activity: The kids participate in the game called “coloring competition.” I paste on the
board two flipcharts containing ten circles each one. I form two teams to compete each other. The
group who finishes coloring first will be the winner. (10 min)
2. Review: Using the flipcharts the kids review with me the correct recognition and pronunciation of
colors and the grammar “It’s + (color).” (5 min)

Middle Activities

3. Grammar: My favorite color is… I explain to kids that in today’s lesson we are going to learn to
say our favorite color in English. Then using the flashcard of a hand I present them the grammar
“My favorite color is…” and in the thumb a put a color. I ask kids to repeat with me and then by
themselves. I check pronunciation. (10 min)
4. Listening: Listen and circle. I paste in the kids’ English notebooks a piece of paper containing
six cones of colors. I explain to kids that I am going to say four sentences and they have to circle
the color they hear. Then I check their answers. (8 min)

Closing Activity

5. Speaking: What is your favorite color? My favorite color is… I ask kids to draw a hand in their
notebooks and color the thumb with their favorite color. Then through the dynamic “Eeny, Meeny,
Minie, Moe” I choose some of them at random to pass to the front with their notebooks and
answer my question “What is your favorite color?” by replying “My favorite color is…” I give them
help if necessary. (12 min)

1. Warm-up activity: The kids participate in the dynamic called “find something of color …” I explain
to kids that whenever I say the phrases “find something of color…” they have to look around, find
and touch the object which has the color I mention. (10 min)
2. Review: Using flashcards the kids review with me the correct pronunciation and recognition of the
toys words and colors. (5 min)

Middle Activities

3. Vocabulary: Toys 2. I explain to kids that in today’s lesson we are going to learn six more new
toys. Then through flashcards I present them the new toys. I ask them to repeat with me and then
I point each flashcard and ask them to repeat without my help. (5 min)

4. Listening: Listen and point. I paste in the kids’ English notebook a piece of paper containing the
six new toys. I ask them to listen to me and point each toy as I pronounce the words. I monitor and
check to be sure the kids are pointing the correct toy. (7 min)

4.1. Listen, point and say. Once the kids have listened to the correct pronunciation of toys
words. I ask them to listen to me again, point and now say the words. I monitor and check
to be sure the kids are pointing and pronouncing the words correctly. (5 min)
5. Writing: Write the words. Once the kids have practiced the correct pronunciation of toys words I
ask them to write the word for each toy by looking at the board how the words are written in
English. (5 min)
5.1. Find and circle the words. I paste in the kids’ English notebooks another piece of paper
containing a word search. I ask kids to find and circle the six words of toys. I monitor and
check to be sure the kids are doing the activity correctly. (8 min)

Opening Activities

1. Warm-up activity: The Ss participate in the dynamic called “reading competition” I draw a line
one the board in order to dive it into two parts for team A and B. Then I paste a flipchart containing
the drawings of the clothing and footwear and weather types. I ask Ss that they have to take a
piece of paper from a box, read it and paste it on below the correct picture. The team who finishes
first wins. (10 min)
2. Presentation of the new contents: I explain to Ss that in today’s lesson we are going to learn to
say and write eight action verbs in English. (2 min)

Middle Activities

3. Vocabulary: Action verbs. Through flashcards I present to Ss the vocabulary about action verbs.
I point to each picture, say the word and perform the appropriate action. I ask Ss to repeat and
perform the actions with me. Then I paste each flashcard on the board, I point to each one and
ask them to say the actions by themselves. (6 min)
4. Listening: Listen and point. I ask Ss to open their English book and turn to page 20. I ask them to
listen and point each action verb. I play track 11 twice on my speaker as I monitor to be sure the
Ss are pointing the correct action verb. (5 min)
4.1. Listen, point, and say the words. One the Ss have finished listening and pointing I ask them to
listen again, point, and now say the words. I play track 11 three times on my speaker. I monitor
and check pronunciation. (5 min)
5. Writing: Write the words. I ask Ss to draw the actions in their notebooks and write the words for
each one. I monitor and check to be sure the Ss are tracing the words correctly. (8 min)

Closing Activity

6. Reading: Find and circle the words in the word search. I paste in the Ss’ English notebooks a
piece of paper containing a word search. I ask Ss to find and circle the eight action verbs we have
just studied. I monitor and check to be sure the Ss are doing the activity correctly. (6 min)

D. Homework

Practice the spelling of each action verb five times. (3 min)
