Opening Activities

1. Warm-up activity: The kids sing with me the songs “Hello! Hello!” and “walking! Walking!” I play
the audio track on my speaker. (10 min)
2. Review: Using flashcards and the question “How’s the weather?” the kids review with me the correct
recognition and pronunciation of the weather types. (5 min)

Middle Activities

3. Grammar: How is the weather today? It’s… I show to kids the flashcard of “sunny” and ask them
the question “How is the weather today?” and motivate them to answer “It’s + (weather time).” The
same process is done with rainy, cloudy, and windy. (7 min)

4. Speaking: How is the weather today? It’s… Through the dynamic “hot potato” I choose some
kids at random to pass to the front to answer for me the question “How is the weather today?” as I
show them a flashcard. Kids have to answer making use of the grammar “It’s + (weather type).” I
give them help if necessary. (10 min)

Closing Activity

5. Listening: Listen and draw. I paste in the kids’ notebooks a piece of paper containing for squares.
I explain to kids that they have to listen to an audio and draw the weather type they hear in the
correct square. I play track 40 twice. I monitor and check to be sure the kids did the activity correctly.
(10 min)
D. Homework

Bring for next English class the following materials: colors, scissors, yarn, and a piece of cardboard
box. (3 min)

Opening Activities

1. Warm-up activity: The kids repeat with me “The Burrito song.” I ask them to stand up and repeat
the words with me as they do the movements with me. (10 min)
2. Review: Using flashcards and the question “How’s the weather?” the kids review with me the correct
recognition and pronunciation of the weather types. (5 min)

Middle Activities

3. Writing: Making a weather mobile. I ask kids to take out their colors and give to each one a copy
of the Black Line Master. I ask kids to color the weather types and the umbrella. I monitor and check
to be sure the kids are coloring correctly. After that, I ask them to cut out the pictures following the
dotted lines. Next, they have to paste the pictures on the piece of cardboard box and cut them out
carefully. Later, using yarn, they have to hang each weather type to the umbrella. I give them help
if necessary. (20 min)

Closing Activity

4. Speaking: Talk about your weather mobile: It’s + (weather type). Once the kids have finished
the previous activities, I choose some of them at random to pass to the front to talk about his/her
weather mobile by making use of the grammar “It’s + (weather type).” I check pronunciation. (10
min)

form of the vocabulary of geometric shapes. (5 min)

Middle Activities

3. Grammar: It’s a/an… I draw on the board the six geometric shapes and below each one I write the
sentence “It’s a/an…” I ask kids to copy them in their notebooks and after that I ask them to practice
the pronunciation of the sentences with me and then by themselves. (7 min)

4. Speaking: What is it? It’s a/an + (geometric shape). Through the dynamic “hot potato” I choose
some kids at random to pass to the front. I show a flashcard to the one chosen, and ask him/her the
question “What is it?” He/She has to answer making use of the grammar “It’s a/an + (geometric
shape).” If he/she doesn’t know what to answer, I ask for help to the rest of the class. (10 min)

Closing Activity

5. Listening: Listen and circle the sentence you hear. I write on the board four pairs of sentences.
I ask kids to copy them into their notebooks. Once they have finished copying them, I explain to
them that they have to listen to me carefully and circle the sentence they hear. Once the activity is
finished, we check the answers on the board. (10 min)

Opening Activities

1. Warm-up activity: The kids participate in the dynamic called “Listen and form the shape!” I explain
to kids that there are some geometric shapes on the floor and every time I say a shape they have
to form it by placing on the lines or curves of the shape. (10 min)
2. Review: The kids review with me through flashcards the correct pronunciation, recognition, and
written form of the vocabulary of geometric shapes and the grammar “It’s a/sn…” (5 min)

Middle Activities

3. Grammar: Draw a/an… I write the word “draw” on the board and ask kids to say it with me three
times. I explain to them what the meaning of the word is. After that, I write the sentence “Draw a
square” on the board and ask kids to read it with me three times and then I draw a square below
the sentence. The same process is done with “triangle.” Once I finish explaining to them, I ask them
to copy the two examples in their notebooks. (7 min)

4. Listening: Listen and draw. I draw some headphones on the board and explain to kids that they
have to listen and draw the geometric shape they hear. I play track 48 on my speaker twice. Once
the activity is finished, I check to be sure the kids did it correctly. (8 min)

Script:

 Draw a square.
 Draw a triangle on the square.
 Draw four squares for the windows and a rectangle for the door.

Closing Activity

5. Writing: Look at the shapes and draw pictures of objects you know. I draw a chart on the board
containing three columns. In each column I draw the following geometric shapes: oval, diamond,
and circle. I ask kids to draw objects they know. I give them an example with diamond by drawing
a traffic sign: a curve. I monitor and check to be sure the kids are doing the activity correctly. (10
min)

ask Ss to copy the example in their notebooks. (7 min)

subjects they like the most. I monitor and check to be sure the students are doing the activity

explain to Ss that they have to repeat the words with me and perform the actions. (10 min)
2. Review: The students review with me through flashcards the correct pronunciation, recognition,
and written form of the vocabulary of party. (5 min)

Middle Activities

3. Vocabulary: Face parts. I present to Ss the new vocabulary of face parts through flashcards. I
present them each flashcard and ask them to say the words with me. I paste each flashcard on the
board, point each one, and ask Ss to say them for me. (7 min)

4. Listening: Listen, point, and say the words. I paste in the students’ English notebooks a piece
of paper containing activity 1 of page 64 of the SB. I ask Ss to listen, point, and say the words once
they listen to the audio track. I play track 38 three times on my speaker. I monitor and check to be
sure the Ss are pointing and pronouncing the words correctly. (6 min)
5. Writing: Write the words. Once the Ss have finished practicing the correct pronunciation of the
face parts, I write the word for each face part below each picture and ask Ss to write them in their
notebooks. I check to be sure the Ss wrote the words correctly. (5 min)

Closing Activity

5.1. Label the party mask. I paste in the Ss’ English notebooks another piece of paper containing
activity 2 of page 64 of the SB. I ask Ss to label the party mask by writing the correct word for
each face part. I monitor and check to be sure the Ss are doing the activity correctly. (7 min)

D. Homework

Practice the written form of the vocabulary of face parts. (5 min)

explain to Ss the activity and try to confuse them. (10 min)

and written form of the vocabulary of party and face parts. (5 min)

Middle Activities

3. Speaking: What is it? (Face part). I ask Ss to stand up and make a circle. I explain to them that
we are going to play the hot potato in order to choose pairs of students at random. The ones chosen
have to take out a piece of paper from a bag containing the picture of a face part, he/she has to ask
to his/her classmate the question “What is it?” His/Her classmate has to answer with the correct
face part. If he/she doesn’t know the answer, the rest of the class will help him/her. (10 min)

4. Listening: Listen and circle the word you hear. I write on the board five trios of words and ask
Ss to copy them in their notebooks. I explain to them that they have to listen to me and circle the
word they hear. Once the activity is finished, we check the answers on the board. (7 min)

to be sure the Ss are doing the activity correctly. (10 min)

Make a mask with all the face parts and bring it for next English class. (3 min)
