Reflection

Personal reflection on learning of Business Project and Australian Post

Introduction

The business project course has presented me with a diverse platform to grasp, apply, and
enhance the learning. This course has helped me develop research skills and the ability to
conduct fieldwork, integrate relevant information, and articulate unique thoughts and ideas
methods for resolving specific issues by focusing on finishing the work on Australian Post (AU
Post). This essay will shed light reflecting the learning of this course.

Body

In week one, I learned about the fundamentals of the course, namely, business projects. This
class aided me in completing a directed business project on a current business topic. I have
chosen the project AU post. In week 2, I learned about research, researchers, and the business
project, which was a significant step toward finishing my project and honing my research
abilities in preparation for my research on Australia Post. Starting as the requirement of the
course I have focused on selecting an organization for which I had conducted research. I have
brainstormed a lot of organizations and conducted research using the websites and other tools
and finally, I reached a conclusion to select AU Post as the organization and identify the
contemporary business issues that were witnessed in the organization.

In week 3 I have gained insight on the researcher as a consultant which I have never thought and
known about before this project on AU post. I have learned that a research consultant does
specialized and focused study and creates a concise overview of the major findings which I have
incorporated in my research on AU post. I had intended to use prior researchers' studies to
improve the project's accuracy and reach a decision on the AU post. To make our research more
significant and credible, I used reading articles and online resources. Not only that, but I have
looked over and assessed research data in order to find information relevant to their clientele and
has a lot of meaning for the AU post.

In week 4, I learned about Models of Engaged Learning and Teaching, which focuses on
assisting in making people aware of area concerns in ways that facilitate student learning goals
through effective community involvement (Willison, 2020), which has assisted us in taking
corrective measures for the Australian Post's issues. Focusing on week 5, I have learned about
the business project. Initially, I had faced difficulty in identifying what is an actual business

project but gaining an insight from the overview of this course I have managed to choose the
organization Australian Post which was dealing with contemporary issues which were
highlighted in their performance.

In week 6 I have gained insight into preliminary group research. Performing group research has
helped in making the presentation more effective because different views of the people are
incorporated to form a concrete base for the project. In week 8 preliminary presentations which
was the major focal point of the project. The major problem that was identified during the
preliminary group project was group cohesion. As a team, we have to work on the project but a
lack of leadership was found which hindered team cohesion. But I have taken the initiative to
segregate the task and work on different aspects of the project so that the team can work towards
achieving the goals and deliver a presentation on the AU post. As a team we had worked towards
gaining a detailed insight on Australian Post. We had collected a lot of information regarding AU
Post including its human resources and the areas that are catered by AU Post.

In Week 9 a SWOT/PESTLE Analysis on AU post was conducted. The SWOT and PESTLE
analysis provides an overview of internal and external factors affecting the business. Performing
the SWOT and PESTLE analysis I have learned that the internal and external factors have a
significant impact on AU Post. The employees were leaving the organization due to government
reaction on the salaries of the employees in the AU post. This highlights that internal and
external factors affect the working of the AU post.

In moving towards Week 10 I have learned about Identifying the legal framework/ Literature
regarding AU Post. Learning about the legal framework and performing a literature review has
helped me in creating insight into the research that has been conducted in previous studies. We
used a combination of active learning and secondary source research to discover the major
challenges in AU Post in order to make the presentation more genuine. We were able to identify
the most serious concerns in AU posts and make the most useful suggestions to the organization.
In the last week, I had focused on making a second client presentation which was again an
imperative phase in my project on AU post. I have discovered that having good presentation
abilities can help me come up with new ideas. The usage of presentation aids provides for a
much more engaging presentation, and creating such aids can allow learners to gain confidence.

In this presentation we have assed more details about AU post which we have missed during the
preliminary presentation.

Conclusion

This course has aided me in developing a solid understanding of basic economic principles, how
global events affect markets, and how to evaluate a company's financial health. I have
incorporated the key aspects of the business project for selecting the AU post. I have also
focused on using both engaged learning models and the utilization of researchers as research
consultants in the business in developing the presentation to make it effective and accurate. This
project has also helped me in creating more insight over leadership and presentation skills which
I have used before but working in a group has helped me in enchanting my skills. Moreover, I
have learned the use of secondary sources of information which has helped in completing the
project on AU post. I will use the knowledge gained from this course in a future project and
focus on identifying the key issues in business and making corrective actions.
