Weeks 5-6

Earth Science

Overview:
In the next two weeks, you will learn about the Earth System Science. The Earth System science
is application of system science to the Earth. In particular, it considers interactions and feedback
through material and energy fluxes.

Duration:
Eighteen (18) hours

● Reading and viewing time: approx 9 hrs


● Tasks: approx 9 hrs

Week 5 Instructions:
Duration: Nine (9) hrs

Earth System Science


1. Read the reading material provided in the google classroom.

b. Earth System Science In a Nutshell
2. Then you will start drafting your Earth System Science (ESS) Analysis that shows how
specific phenomena directly affect or cause change to the spheres.
3. Be prepared for the synchronous session.
4. During the synchronous session you may ask your teacher to show examples of an ESS.
5. Your teacher will give some additional instruction about the task:
a. EES should contain ten (10) phenomena on Earth and indicate the effects on the
Earth System.
b. EES should follow the right use of arrows that will show the cause and effect.
6. After the synchronous session, you may start revising your draft ESS Analysis.
7. You may submit your ESS to your teacher for approval.

8. Once approved, you may start doing the video presentation

Week 6 Instructions:
Earth System Science (ESS)
Duration: Nine (9) hrs

1. You will develop a five (5) minute video instructional material on the approved ESS
Analysis based on how they want their ESS to be presented.
2. Your teacher will choose five (5) best video presentations to be watched in the class.
3. After the five (5) presentations, the students will choose the top 3 best video
presentations and to be awarded by a certificate.
