Weeks 5-6

Academic Communication

Overview:
In the last two weeks of the course, you will be writing your final essay and equipping your
grammatical competence by going through the various exercises herein. By the end of the 6th
week, you will be submitting your final essay, which serves as the terminal assessment of your
understanding of the key points discussed within this course.

Duration:
Eighteen (18) hours

● Readings: approx 9 hrs

● Reflection & Tasks: approx 9 hrs

Week 5 Instructions:
Duration: Nine (9) hrs

Gearing for Your Final Essay

1. Review Support Materials 1-3.
2. After reviewing the support materials, answer Exercise 4 - Your Final Essay. This exercise
will ask you to write a polished, satisfactory essay. The essay type should be different
from the ones you chose in Exercises 2 and 3.
3. As you continue in your essay writing process, you are also asked to answer Grammar
Exercise 4 - Prepositions. These are activities that will help you sharpen your grammar
skills as you write your final essay.
4. Be prepared to present or share your insights in the writing process in the synchronous or
consultation sessions.

Week 6 Instructions:
Essay Presentation
Duration: Nine (9) hrs

1. As you proofread, and edit your expository or argumentative essay, answer Grammar
Exercise 5 - Dangling and Misplaced modifiers. This exercise should help you enhance
and develop your skills in composition writing.
2. Finalize your final essay and be prepared to present or share your insights in the writing
process in the synchronous or consultation sessions.
