Introduction Good Morning class, What skills have we learned Students will be lined up on the
in the past two class basketball? Thats correct sideline
dribbling and passing but can anyone tell me what
the three different passes we have learned? Great
the Chest, bounce and overhead pass. Ok to start
out today we are going to do some stretching such
has dynamic and static stretching to get our selfs
warmed up for today.
Lesson Focus Today we are going to start the lesson off with the B- Balance
same drill we did last week where we dribble to E- Eyes
the other sideline and back then once we get to the E-Elbow
grey line we either chest, bounce, or overhead F- Follow Through
pass it to our partner. That is just a refresher for
all of us be prepared for game play tomorrow and
to move into shooting.

Ok now we are going to transition into shooting

so let me have one partner stand on the grey line
with the other standing on the sideline. So for
shooting there is an acronym that we have to re-
member it is Called BEEF which stands for Bal-
ance, Eyes, Elbow and Follow trough. So for me I
am going to demonstrate every cue with another
student so we are going to practice shooting to our
partner with once I see every student is comfort-
able with the cues and how to use them then we
will transition to shooting on a goal

When we transition I will be sending students to

stand behind cones so that they are all even. So
each goal is going to have two cones on the bot-
tom blocks and every student that is on the right
side of the goal will be shooting the ball and every
student on the left side of the goal will be re-
bounding the ball and dribbling it the cone on the
right side of the goal. So if your on the right side
of the goal and shoot you will then go to the back
of the line on the left side of the goal and wait to
rebound

Once we got the hang on shooting on the goal I

will teach the students the proper way of doing a
lay up. Cues of the lay up you always want to
jump off the foot that is closet to the rim. Then I
will demonstrate to my students the right hand lay
up so you jump off your left foot and drive up-
wards towards the rim and shoot for the top right
side of the box on the back board. For this drill
there will be two cones at the three point line with
the right side doing to the lay-ups and the left side
is the rebounders so once they get the rebound
they dribble the ball to the back of their to wait
Once the students have the hang of dribbling the
ball to the basket and laying it up with their right
hand. The ball will start off with the rebounder
then they pass the ball to the shooter with either a
chest, bounce, or overhead pass then the shooter
catches it then dribbles to make the lay- up. Then
like before the rebounder rebounds the lay up and
hands the ball to the shooter then the shooter drib-
bles it to the back of the rebound line to wait on
his/her turn to pass the ball.

Then after the laying up part we will pass the ball

to the shooter and the shooter takes one dribble
and takes a jump shot to where the rebounder
catches it and hands the ball back to the shooter to
take it to the back of the rebounder line

Once we're done with this we will transition to

putting the balls in the kiddy pool and having a sit
on the sideline of the basketball court.

Closure How do y’all like that lesson on shooting? Raise B- Balance

your hand if you had fun today. Can anyone tell E- Eyes
what each letter in the acronym BEEF means? E-Elbow

doing a right hand lay-up? Okay great job today
class and to think about BEEF and next class we
will be doing some game play.
