Answer the following questions:

A. Discuss the responsibilities of the officials in a game of basketball in your own

understanding

There are a lot of responsibilities that every officials need to fulfill like they
need to interpret every rules in the game. Cause if the official doesn’t know how
to run the entire game, the play of every team will put into chaos. Every official
ensure that the game will be played according to the rule of the basketball. There
are times when the officials are careless in handling the game, like they missed
to call a violation like the fouls and travelling, and that leads to the
misunderstanding of every team. Also, the officials provide managements and
supervision to every athlete participating in the play to make sure that the
competition is conducted in a nonviolent and rational method. Thus, the main
duty of every official is to deplete the conflict in the game in a way that they take
necessary actions to maintain the peace and order throughout the game.

B. Discuss the responsibilities of the persons composing a team in your own

understanding.

There are specific positions that every player must have. They are the
centers, power forwards, small forwards, shooting guards and point guards. They
are responsible for playing the entire game and these positions are given to them
to contribute to the scoring and play of the team. There is also the captain who is
accountable for representing his coach on the playing court. They give off the
confidence to their teammates in order for them to strive harder to win the game.
And also, there is the coach who is the brain of every team. They are the one
 who formulate the play that every team needs to execute. The team manager
has the duty to train the players on what skills they need to improve so that they
are conditioned before the game started. They also take down notes on what
abilities do the player needs to enhance. Lastly, the team physicians are those
who maintain the health of every player. They are responsible to keep the
lifestyle of the athlete healthy. Thus, every person involved in playing basketball
has a role to fulfill.

C. Give the reasons why official should identify and master the different hand
signals used in basketball

Imagine what will happen if the official doesn’t identify how to execute the
correct hand signal. For example, the player committed foul but the referee
signals that the violation is last touch and if the player committed traveling but the
official says it’s a foul. So, in short there will be a chaos in the entire game and
the flow of the play will be altered. If the official don’t memorize what is the
purpose of the hand signals then it will result to misunderstanding between each
team.

D. As a student of ISAT University, how can you relate and apply the responsibilities
of the official and persons composing a team to your own actual life?

Even if I don’t play basketball and I am more on playing volleyball, still it’s
going to be beneficial on my end. Why? It is because if you are confident enough
to gives off positive energy to my colleagues then we will build a stronger
relationship and solid trust with each other. The responsibilities of every person
playing basketball are somewhat similar to what we need to possess on our
everyday living. As a student of ISAT University, they responsibilities I learned
from every player will be a hit for me in applying to what i need to do every day.
