presentation
Good morning, Ladies and Gentlemen. I would like to
say thank you for coming in my presentation. It’s great
to see you all. My name is ALDI ADITYA I'm a student
on campus Unika Soegijapranata ,I was born in
Palembang city , First, I will explain to you about my
hometown I was born in Palembang, Palembang is a
city that is characterized by fish, so the food that is
characterized is Pempek Palembang ,Pempek is a
food made from fish and eggs and I really like it is a
bridge in Palembang City, South Sumatra Province,
Indonesia. Ampera Bridge, which has become a kind
of symbol of the city, is located in the middle of
Palembang City, connecting the areas of Seberang
Ulu and Seberang Ilir which are separated by the Musi
River. Ampera Bridge is the most famous icon of
Palembang city.[1], Well in Palembang there is a gas
and steam power plant or (PLTGU)
POWER PLANT
• A power plant is an industrial facility that generates
electricity from primary energy. Most power plants use
one or more generators that convert mechanical
energy into electrical energy[1] in order to
supply power to the electrical grid for
society's electrical needs. The exception is solar power
plants, which use photovoltaic cells (instead of a turbine)
to generate this electricity.

PLTGU Gas and Steam Power Plant is Gas and Steam Power
Plant (PLTGU) is a combination of PLTG and PLTU, where the
heat from the exhaust gases from the PLTG is used to produce
steam which is used as the working fluid in the PLTU. And the
part used to produce the steam is HRSG (Heat Recovery Steam
Generator). PLTGU is an installation of equipment that
functions to convert heat energy (the result of burning fuel
and air) into useful electrical energy. Basically, this PLTGU is a
merger between PLTG and PLTU. PLTU utilizes heat energy
and steam from the combustion exhaust gases in the PLTG to
heat the air in the HRSG (Heat Recovery Steam Genarator), so
that it becomes dry saturated steam. This dry saturated steam
will be used to turn the blades (propellers). The gas produced
in the combustion chamber at the Gas Power Plant (PLTG) will
drive a turbine and then a generator, which will convert it into
electrical energy. Similar to PLTU, PLTG fuel can be in the form
of liquid (BBM) or gas (natural gas). The use of fuel to
determine the level of combustion efficiency and the process.

Generating Function
• To produce electrical energy that is useful for the wider
community to be used as an energy source for equipment that
uses electrical energy..
• Generator is the main component that is able to generate
electric power. The energy sources used also vary, such as water,
sun, natural gas, ocean waves, wind, and others. That way, the
generator function makes us not easily run out of electrical
energy. Our design templates have been specifically optimized
for use in Microsoft PowerPoint, making them easy-to-use for
even a novice user.

Power Reserve
• As we know, many public places use generators. Of
course, it is used as a backup power supply. Some
places, such as supermarkets, hotels, and hospitals,
use generators in the form of generators to store
electricity in them.
• With the generator, the backup power supply can
help with daily activities. So, you don't have to
worry about power outages anymore.

Thermal
Most thermal power plants use fuel to heat up water from a
reservoir, which generates steam(usually at a high pressure).
The highly pressurized steam then travels through pipes to
rotate the fan-like blades of a turbine (see Rankine cycle for
more info). As the turbine begins to spin, it causes
giant wire coils inside the generator to turn. This creates
relative (continuos) motion between a coil of wire and
a magnet, which pushes electrons and starts the flow of
electricity.[9]

Renewable
Renewable energy power plants get their energy directly from their
respective flows in order to generate electricity. These primary energy
sources replenish themselves eventually, but are limited in the
amount of energy that is available at any given time or place.
Therefore they are often intermittent and non-dispatchable.[9]
• Hydroelectric facilities use energy from falling water in rivers
and reservoirs to spin a generator and create electricity. This
energy source tends to be more reliable (dispatchable) than
other renewable resources, especially when the facility runs off
of a reservoir.[11]
• Wind turbines get their energy from wind, which upon contact
slows down and transfers kinetic energy to the turbine. Air
drag causes the turbine to spin, and the maximum efficiency of
turbines is given by the Betz limit.
• Solar panels use photovoltaic cells in order to create electricity.
The incoming photons from the Sun hit atoms inside the
panel's semiconductors which causes electrons to flow. Solar
energy is intermittent but combined with energy
storage technology their power can be much more reliable.
Transportation of electricity
• Once electricity is
generated, transformers "step-up" the electric
power to a higher voltage in order to travel
long distances with minimal energy loss. It
then travels through "pylons" along overhead
power cables to its destination, where
transformers subsequently "step-down" the
electric power to safe voltages for houses and
utilities. For a more complete story please
see electrical transmission.

7 Types of Power Plants in Indonesia

• 1. Steam Power Plant (PLTU)
Steam Power Plant (PLTU) is a generator that relies on
the kinetic energy of steam to produce electrical energy.

The main form of this type of power plant is a generator

which is a shaft with a turbine driven by kinetic energy
from hot/dry steam
• 2. Gas Power Plant (PLTG)
PLTG is a type of generator that uses "hot air" to turn a
turbine. This hot air is produced by heating the air using
gas in the combustion chamber. The hot air is then sent
to the turbine
• 3. Diesel Power Station
Diesel Power Plant (PLTD) is a power plant that uses a
diesel engine as the initial propulsion. This diesel engine
functions to produce the mechanical energy needed to
rotate the generator rotor.
• 4. Geothermal Power Plant (PLTP)
(PLTP) is electric power generated from the motion of a
turbine driven by geothermal energy.
• 5. Solar Power Plant (PLTS)
A solar power plant or abbreviated as PLTS is a power
plant that converts solar energy into electrical energy.
• 6. Hydroelectric Power Plant (PLTA)
Hydroelectric power (PLTA) is a generator that relies on
the potential and kinetic energy of the air to produce
electrical energy.
• 7. Wind Power Plant (PLTB)
A power plant that utilizes wind power to turn wind
turbines to generate electricity

• That's all for today. Thank
