JOB TITLE : Excavation
Frequency Monthly

1) Job specific safety training shall be ensured.

2) Excavation permit must be issue prior start of work.

3) Establish the locations of underground and overhead utilities and services before
beginning excavation.

4) Employees working in trenches 4 feet deep or more will have an adequate and safe
means of exit, such as ladders, steps or ramps available at no more than 25 feet of
lateral travel.

5) Employees exposed to public vehicular traffic must wear suitable garments marked with
or made of reflector or high-visibility material.

6) Permit no employees underneath loads by lifting or digging equipment.

7) Employees must not work in excavations in which there is accumulated water without
necessary safety precautions
8) Proper approach like ramp/passage/ladders etc. is provided to enter inside the pit.

9) Proper and strong barricades are provided.

10) Suitable warning boards/flags/red night lamps shall be posted.

11) Traffic diversion boards/signs shall be positioned.
