Code of Ethics of the Filipino IT Professionals

 I will promote public knowledge, understanding and appreciation of Information technology.

 I will consider the general welfare and public welfare and public good in the performance of
my work.
 I will advertise goods or professional services in a clear and truthful manner.
 I will comply and strictly abide by the intellectual property laws, patent laws and other related
laws in respect of Information Technology.
 I will accept the full responsibility for the work undertaken and utilize my skills with
competence and professionalism.
 I will make truthful statements on my areas of competence as well as the capabilities and
qualities of my product and services.
 I will not disclose or use ant confidential information obtained in course of professional duties
without the consent of the parties concerned except when required by the laws.
 I will strive to attain the highest quality in both the products and services that offer.
 I will knowingly participate in the development of the Information Technology.
 I will uphold and improve the IT professionals’ standards through continuing profession in
order to enhance the IT profession.

2. Explain briefly what you understand in each Code of Ethics

 For me each of the Code of Ethics acts as a reminder and motivation for an IT
professional as well as for those IT students. It reminds the do and don’ts so
that IT professionals must be more careful to their profession. It also gives
motivation so that their IT profession will be more productive and encourage
learning new skill set as technology changes.
3. In order for you to make productive, How are you going to maximize the use of the
following:

a) Computer in your daily life as a student

 As a student, we use computer in most of our daily transaction without knowing
it. It is also very significant for us as a student especially nowadays that we were
facing this kind of pandemic to the point that we need to continue our classes
through online and for me it is the most accessible or easiest way for us to
understand our lessons.
b) Skills in using the computer
 By using computer you can get information’s needed and the easiest way to
connect or get in touch to other people.
c) Computer technology to your advantage as a student compare to non-IT students
 As we all know that computers brought us many benefits and play a very
important role in our modern life, every student may using it nowadays and as
an IT student we are more advance about technology and of course because it is
our field and our major lessons are about technology.
d) How to cope-up with today situation using the knowledge, skills and ICT technology.
 It is hard for us to cope-up in this situation, but because we are now in the
modern life/generation our knowledge and skills in using technology make our
lives easier.
e) Considering IT code of ethics, how are you going to improve the lives of all Filipino
when you become an IT professional someday?
 If I may become an IT professional someday bearing those IT code of ethics on
my mind maybe I will start helping first those who left behind Filipino when it
comes to technology because as we all know not all Filipino afford to be with us
living in modern life. And of course I will encourage fellow Filipinos about my
profession so that they will know that living with technology eases their life in a
good way.
