First Essay Draft 1

Research -oranges and immune system

Time- 10 days

Question- If two oranges are eaten after every meal, how well does the immune system better

itself?

Growing up we are told that one apple a day keeps the doctors away, and I kinda want to test

that theory. If two oranges are eaten after every meal how well would our immune system

change over the span of 10 days. We know that oranges contain a lot of vitamin c but it also

contains much of Vitamin a, potassium, calcium, and Vitamin B1 which is thiamine.

If it contains some amount how well would the immune system be in 10 days if 6 oranges are

eaten in one day.

Experiment

The experiment that was conducted involved the subject eating a total of 6 oranges a day

for 10 days. Before each meal the subject would eat two oranges by themself, after 5 minutes the

subject would eat. In “The Orange” by Glenn King, oranges provide a total amount of calories of

85 and a large portion of sugars being 17g.

The second day was a little less challenging, the subject already had waking up earlier

than usual in mind, but she did have to make sure she could fit the experiment into that day's

schedule. Once lunch hit, the subject did have a stomach ache. She changed her schedule and

route, but she also changed her diet, only eating healthy food. She stopped eating any junk food

and sweets, allowing the orange to do its job of cleaning any toxins that are harmful to the body.

Day three was very convenient to the subject, it being the weekend allowed her to rest.

Although she did wake up early to keep up with the experiment, she did not have to change any

route. The oranges were still working on her body to release any toxin, but she felt more

energetic and healthier apart from everything elsE

Day four

On day five,

Conclusion

The subject will not know one hundred percent how exactly the oranges have helped her

immune system. If the subject were to keep up with this diet for as long as she wishes, she would

probably start noticing many changes to her body
