Macbeth Game Pitch

For your final assessment you will have two options:

Option 1: Create a video game based on Macbeth and pitch it to the class.

Option 2: Create a physical game (board, card, etc.) based on Macbeth and pitch it to the class.

In each of these scenarios try to place yourself in the role of a game developer presenting their work
to a board for approval. Aim to sell your game as the next best thing in the entertainment world!

To sell your game you will need to create a slideshow with one or more slides per a bullet point and
“pitch” it to the class.

On the slideshow you will need to include the following:

● An introduction slide listing the name of your game and your name.
● An explanation of the basic concept of your game. This should give the audience enough
context to understand the rest of your presentation.
● What levels would there be? Or what would progression through the game look like? Why?
● What characters could you play as? What would their skills be? Why?
● What would the game mechanics be? Why?
● How would you win or lose the game?
● What would the game look like/sound like (include a number of reference photos and
optional soundtrack clips). Why?
● A “questions” slide so that your “board of approval” can ask you about the game.
● A concluding slide with your works cited on it.
● *Explicit connections to the novel. Your game can be an adaptation, but there must be
elements from the book included. Ideally you would explain these in the why section of your
slides. For every slide try to ask yourself: How does this aspect of my game relate or not relate
to the play? And why is that important?
● At least five quotes from the play used as rationales for your creative choices.

Extras: To go above and beyond you could integrate more than five quotations from the play into your
presentation as rationales for some of your creative choices. You could also include more visuals,
soundtrack clips, include a physical element for those doing a board game, create a model scenario
of an important event in your game, create character models, come up with some original dialogue
for your characters, etc. Think creatively!
