1. Discuss the importance of report writing in your career and create a title for your essay

In the field of law enforcement, report writing is important. While performing their
duty, an officer must be able to accurately document information about those events
and deliver not to those who were not present. The presence or absence of information
in these records could determine a person’s guilt or innocence. Police reports can
control a person’s life; a simple mistake may put a person at stake, that is why it should
be given much importance. Reports contain the actual incident including those involved
and their state of mind, if under the influence of alcohol or not. Police reports serves as
a reference for investigating officers and can also be used by the victim for insurance
purposes or by court staff in the event of criminal charges.
