In this activity, my students are going to Timetoast to create an interactive
timeline of World War II. BRANDON COLLINS TLED430W 2/7/2022 Activity 1. On Monday the teacher will begin the unit on the Second World War. This will first consist of a PowerPoint presentation and lecture that establishes the rise of Fascism in Europe because of WW1 and the Treaty of Versailles. As well as important events during the rise of the Nazis such as the Reichstag fire, Kristallnacht, and the Night of the long Knives. It is also on this day that the teacher will introduce the project for the unit, that being a timeline made with Timetoast which will document the course of WW2 and be due at the end of the unit.
a) Students will be required to include the
following information in their timelines: (1) The date wherein a significant event took place, (2) Why it was significant, (3) What historical figures from the unit were important in this event and why they were important, and (4) a picture that is associated with the event.
2. On Tuesday the teacher will discuss Nazi-
Germany’s peaceful territorial expansion through the Anschluss with Austria and the Munich agreement, the British policy of appeasement, and the opening stages of the war, the invasion of Poland, France, the North Africa campaign, and ‘the Blitz’. Teacher will also introduce the important figures of the European theatre, excluding American figures.
3. On Wednesday the teacher will discuss the
Russian front, important battles such as Stalingrad, and important figures of the Soviet Union, the importance of American lend-lease, and the resource deficiencies of the Axis Powers. (Students should be working on timeline as the unit progresses)
4. On Thursday the teacher will discuss the
