Welcome to my group’s presentation.

Today my group
will talk about topic of tourism development after
covid 19 in VietNam
Here are my team member
There are three part:
- Impact of Covid-19 on Vietnam tourism industry
- Travel trends after the Covid-19 pandemic in
VietNam
- Solutions to develop tourism in Vietnam after
Covid-19
Tourism is a general economic sector, which plays an increasingly important
role in economic, political, and social development and the protection of natural
resources and the environment. However, at present, this "smokeless industry"
industry has been severely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. The impact of
COVID-19 on the tourism industry is expected to be huge, far exceeding the epidemics
that Vietnam has experienced in recent decades.
1.1.1. Impact of Covid-19 on Vietnam tourism industry
1.1.2. Negative impact. The number of domestic and international visitors
decreased
The number of international tourists as well as domestic tourism has decreased
significantly compared to before the epidemic appeared.
On December twenty nine, the General Department of Tourism said that in
December twenty and twenty one, the number of international visitors to Vietnam was
estimated at seven teen thousand and two hundred turns of people an increase of
fourteen pont two percent compared to November twenty and twenty one and an
increase of five pont four percent compared to the same period last year. In general, in
twenty and twenty one, the number of international visitors to Vietnam reached one
hundred thousand and fifty seven thousand three hundred turns of people, down ninety
pont nine percent from the previous year. Asia is still the main market when the
number of visitors to Vietnam in twenty and twenty one reaches one hundred thousand
and thirty two thousand eight hundred turns of people, accounting for eighty four pon
five percent of the total number of international visitors, down ninety five pont three
percent from the previous year.
Visitors from Europe reached six teen thousand turns of people, down ninety
seven pont six percent. Visitors from the Americas reached five thousand and eight
hundred turns of people, down eighty seven pont six percent. Visitors from Australia
reached one thousand and three hundred turns of people, down ninety eight pont eight
percent and visitors from Africa reached one thousand and four hundred turns of
people, down eighty eight pont six percent.
In the first five months of twenty and twenty one, visitors from Asia reached
seventy one pont six thousand turns of people, accounting for eighty eight pont four
percent of the total number of international visitors to our country, down ninety seven
pont four percent over the same period last year. In which, visitors from main markets
all decreased sharply: China reached nearly thirty four pon one thousand turns of
people, down ninety six pont three percent over the same period last year; South Korea
Sixteen poin nine thousand turns of people, down ninety seven pont nine percent;
Taiwan six pont two thousand turns of people, down ninety six pont eight percent;
Laos four pont three thousand turns of people, down eighty eight pont five percent;
Japan reached nearly four pont two thousand turns of people, down ninety seven pont
nine.
1.1.3. Accommodation facilities have to close, tourism industry employees
are unemployed
The impact of the Covid-19 epidemic not only has a direct impact on the
number of tourists but also on accommodation facilities. The tourist accommodation
business sector (accounting for fourty six percent of the revenue structure of Vietnam's
tourism industry) is currently closed for about ninety percent and has almost no
visitors, except for isolation facilities.
Due to the impact of the epidemic, most of the previous bookings at tourist
accommodation establishments in Da Nang City in May and June twenty and twenty
one have been canceled.
Hotels across provinces and cities across the country in turn announced to close
at least until the end of April thirty. It is this that causes tourism workers to lose their
jobs, companies, hotels, and restaurants, in turn, have to cut payrolls by sixty percent.
For multinational companies, even Four out of five of the number of employees is
reduced. If the situation is more difficult, unemployment is likely to last longer.
1.1.4. Revenue from the tourism industry declines
Tourism is an integrated economic sector, involving many other industries, such
as transportation, accommodation, food services, etc., so the impact of the Covid-19
epidemic caused the revenue of all other industries.
The complicated development of the Covid-19 epidemic in some localities
negatively affected tourism revenue, many accommodations, dining, and travel
establishments had to temporarily close. On April twenty nine, the General Statistics
Office announced data for the first 4 months of twenty and twenty one. Accordingly,
tourism revenue in the first 4 months of twenty and twenty one is estimated at four
thousands billion VND. This number decreased by fourty nine pon two percent over
the same period last year because Vietnam continues to implement measures to
prevent and control the Covid-19 epidemic, has not yet opened international tourism
and at the same time, people are still worried about the epidemic, so they should limit
travel.
Which, some big cities decreased sharply compared to the same period last
year, such as Hanoi, down eight pont seven percent; Da Nang down fourty five percent
; Ho Chi Minh City down fourty six percent ...
1.2. Positive impact
1.2.1. Benefits of not having tourists
There is time for the repair and restoration of historic sites, renewal, and
attractiveness of tourist destinations.
Identify changes in activities to improve profits, apply advanced solutions in
management, improve management capacity in tourism organizations, train employees
in thinking in the face to face low tourist demand, and had to close temporarily.
For example, applying touchless services in accommodation services such as
contactless check-in and check-out, fingerprint or eye recognition code scanning
technology, etc.
1.2.2. Improved environmental quality
When the Covid pandemic occurred, the quality of the environment gradually
improved such as cleaner air, hearing birdsong instead of the loud sound of vehicles
when cities imposed blockade orders, or social distancing.
Due to the pandemic's impact on tourism and industry, many areas of the Earth
have experienced significant reductions in air pollution, including climate change. In
Vietnam, the General Department of Environment (Ministry of Natural Resources and
Environment) said, comparing the results of air quality in northern cities from January
first to April twnty twenty, compared with the same period of previous years, air
quality also tends to improve, since the reduction of unnecessary movement due to the
Covid-19 epidemic has contributed to a significant decrease in carbon dioxide,
methane, and emissions. carbon monoxide.
Social distancing measures have been applied in most countries, so tourism
activities have been stopped, beaches have become deserted and cleaner and waste in
tourist spots has also decreased sharply. Noise in urban areas and public places is also
reduced because people are not concentrated, business activities are stopped, and
vehicle traffic is restricted.
1.2.3. Many new tourism trends are formed
The impact of the Covid-19 pandemic is and will continue to change the way
people travel, and influence destination choices and decisions.
In the context of the current epidemic, travel in the direction of distance will be
a new trend with destination options in isolated areas far from residential areas. Many
surveys show that tourists tend to look for places that help them reconnect with nature,
which many people have not been able to enjoy for a long time. According to a survey
by online booking site Booking dot com, sixty three percent of travelers seek out
experiences away from the city center to immerse themselves in nature, and about
seventy three percent say they prefer simpler activities like spending time Outdoor
time or relaxing with family. Among them, beach vacations are a top priority and
become a resort trend that will explode in the near future.
At the same time, concerns about the epidemic have led many travelers to seek
out places that offer a familiar experience like home. According to Booking.com,
about fivety four percent of travelers would rather book a stay that feels more like a
home or apartment than a hotel room.
Not only has the demand and choice of destination changed, but the behavior of
tourists has also changed a lot since the outbreak of Covid-19, in which the trend of
health tourism aimed at physical recovery and mental regeneration gradually throne.
In addition, "don't touch tourism" continues to be an inevitable trend in the
"new normal" period. In a recent survey conducted by Censuswide, more than four out
of five travelers said the technology will help them travel with confidence, so they will
prioritize choosing destinations that quickly adopt the technology in service delivery.
Next, Minh Tam will continute my presentation.
