Radio drama

Competition
The name of the competition I will be looking into is called UK
international radio drama festival and it is a charitable organisation I
found about them from researching into radio dramas and saw there
was a charity festival in the uk which is a festival just for radio dramas
and I was thinking it would be perfect for my radio drama, They are looking for
people in the uk to join them and create short radio dramas for people to listen too as
you play it for them at the festival. 

Their earliest festival they have is for the 22nd to the 26th of march which will be
held online as you send you submission as an audio file for people to listen too, from
what I see there is no entry fee however the prize would be £2000 and I feel like I
would be good and win in this competition since I am confident I have an appealing
story with good skills to have a clean edit. 

My final idea

My final idea will be a man around 19 years old who goes to his girlfriend’s house at around
11 am to bring her groceries since the night before she sent a message saying that she had no
food in the house however when he enters and after he calls her name telling her he is here
with a present, she does not reply so he calls her name repeatedly while trying to find her and
when he looks in the bedroom he catches his girlfriend cheating on him with another man so
he storms off knocking the groceries onto the floor as he leaves the house and leaving the key
he has to the house.

When the man gets to his house he messages his friends telling them what has happened and
not to contact him for a little while as he goes to sleep mid day, once he wakes up he sees the
time as 9pm and takes himself on a drive on a road he hasn’t been down before.

He comes across a man on the side of the road who looks homeless and stops next to him as
the sign says help me and thinks to himself that he may as well make someone elses day
better even though he is having a bad one, he talks to him however the man does not answer
so he asks again and the man attacks him.
This results in the man turning into a spirit as showed by him wondering what is going on, he
is looking down on his girlfriend crying regretting what she has done and goes to find him
and when she has an idea when she notices that his car is gone she gets back in her car and
drives and finds his car on the side of the road and when she look into the window she gets
killed and then turns into a ghost also then you hear her confused and then
you hear him call her name and then it ends.

The rules and regulations for this radio drama is that we are not allowed to
use an excessive amount of bad language

My target audience is the British youth which would be 16-25 since I feel like it is relevant to
their lives with relationship problems being so common, I also feel like 16-25 would also be
good since my genre is popular among this age

I feel like my production would not cause offence to anyone watching my production, I also
have not copied any other production and will use my own sounds except for music which I
will make sure is copywrite free
