Linux Course Report

UNIX is an operating system the operating system manages the communication between your
software and your hardware. Without the operating system (OS), the software wouldn’t
function.. Here I got the opportunity to learn more about Linux as I took a course on Udemy about
it “Complete Linux Training Course to get your dream IT job”. I learned many new things in this
course. This course is from beginner to advance level. Here are the few things mentioned here.

Module 1: In this module I learned about what is UNIX, difference between Linux and Unix

Module 2: In this module I learned about Linux distribution, about virtual machine, difference
between Unix and window, application of Unix and who uses the Unix operating system more.

Module 3: In this module I learned about accessing Unix system, new network command,
important things to remember in Unix, introduction to Linux file system, file system navigation
commands, about roots, absolute and relative path, directory listing attributes, creating file and
directories, coping directories, Linux file types, finding file and directories, difference between
find and locate commands, changing passwords, wildcards, soft and hard link.

Module 4: In this module I learned about Linux commands syntax, files and directories
permission, file permission using numeric mode, file ownership commands, access control
system, helping commands, TAB completion and up arrow keys, adding text to files, input and

commands.

Module 5: In this module I learned about Linux file editor, difference between vi and vim, “sed”
command, user account command, enable password aging, switch user and sudo access, monitor
users, talking to users, Linux directory service, difference between active directory, system utility
commands, process jobs and scheduling, systemctl command, ps command, top command, kill

basic shell script, input and output script, if and then script, for loop script, do-while script, case
statement script, check remote server connectivity, aliases, user and global aliases, shell history.

Module 7: In this module I learned about Enable internet on Linux, network components,
network files and commands, nic information, NIC or port bonding, new network utilities,
downloading files and app, curl and ping commands, file transfer portal, secure portal, rsyn,
system updates, system upgrades, creating system repository form, advance package

permission, creating VM, file system color definition, solving file issues, fixing
corrupted file system, Linux system performance issue, types of security threats,
running Linux on web browser,virtualization.

Conclusion We learned is that Linux® is an opensource operating system (OS). An

operating system is the software that directly manages a system’s hardware and
resources, like CPU, memory, and storage. The OS sits between applications and
hardware and makes the connections between all of your software and the physical
resources that do the work.

In this I learned so many things which not only help in advancing my knowledge but
also will help in future in many ways and this make me learn how the operating system
properly works and get to know how multiple task has been performed, and this is
the roller coaster of new things and this course make feel confident more about
computers.
