TITLE:

TECHNICAL REPORT ON A LATHE MACHINE

INTRODUCTION:

The main purpose of this report is to present all the information about
the Lathe Machine such as what is the function and uses of this machine
and how did someone test its operation for proper understanding of the
function and what are the various conditions which must kept in the
mind of the operators who uses this machine for their working.
The audience of this technical Report are the various Executives,
Experts , Operators and Technicians who are willing to work with this
machine so that they can understand proper understanding and
operations.

USE OF MACHINE, CONDITION,

TESTING –
The Lathe Machine is one of the oldest and most important machine tools in the
metal which is used in workshop to remove metals from a work piece to give the
work piece a desired shape and size according to requirement.

Lathe Machines are used in various purposes like metalworking, woodturning ,

Metal spinning, thermal spraying , glass working and also in various industry
which deals with metals.

The accuracy of the threads cut of the Lathe machine depends on the accuracy of
its lead screw so it is essential to have a uniform pitch of the lead screw
throughout its length and test for this is performed by fixing a positive stop on the
lathe bed and against the stop, the length bars of machine and slip gauges can be
located.
RECOMMENDATIONS OF
MAINTENANCE -
The Lathe machine must be maintained well and always all the parts
should be checked properly by the operators so that the machine should
work well in any conditions and also if we not do schedule maintenance
than it leads chances to accident.
The below given process must be maintained for proper working of the
machine-
 Always maintain a safe and clean work environment.
 Use a lathe board for providing electrical connections.
 Keep tools off the lathe ways.
 Clean metal chips so that it does not obstruct the operators.
 Take care of dust to maintain safe and clean work place.
 Clean spindle tapers.
 Lubricate always for providing less friction.
 Protect the machine from rust for maintaining long life of machine.
