Pre-Assessment:

To pre assess students’ knowledge during this lesson, I asked them questions regarding perimeter
and models. Using the information gathered in these questions, I can take further steps in
explaining it during the lesson

June said she was not sure what a perimeter is.
Grayson then said he wasn’t sure what the perimeter was.
Grayson and June helped me make a border using the boards.
I asked them what piece to use next
I asked Grayson what to use to represent the bushes.
He got leaves and placed them along the board that represented the back fence.
Then he decided that sticks could represent the stairs.
Grayson gather sticks and placed them where the stairs would be in the model.
