The Peak: An experience that will leave you

speechless

Views from the peak

For the view of a lifetime across New York City and the feeling of eating
luscious food, consider The Peak. Set on the 101st floor of the Vessel at the
Hudson Yards, the American cuisine offers a delightful feel with its
ambiance and panoramic views. Through the online menu, there is a variety
of food and drinks options that give a mouthwatering feel. Imagine the taste
of the food and the pictures you can capture; The website, is filled with
great amount of information and pictures that will fill you with joy and have
you ready to visit. While at the scene, I was more delighted than ever and
very satisfied with my experience.

The Peak is an American restaurant and bar that is located 1,296 ft tall from
the ground. The views, looking from inside, capture a glimpse of Western
Manhattan, Brooklyn, New Jersey and the Hudson river. This restaurant
offers 45 bar seats and 110 dining seats. The menu offers a variety of
options that are gluten free, vegetarian and vegan. A menu so innovative
and inclusive could only be made a head chef that is just as exceptional.

Chef Christopher Cryer, cooking above sea level, uses ingenious recipes to
satisfy customers looking for unique ways to eat green. Chef Cryer’s’
experience as executive chef at Seamore’s will allow him to deliver an
appetizing meal.

With the huge vessel staring down at you, as you walk through the West
side of Midtown Manhattan exhilaration takes over. The location of the
restaurant will have you eager to get there. The courteous building security
will escort you to the elevator and pinpoint what you should do after getting
off. With the elevators being so close by, it is helpful so you will not be tired
of walking.

The scenery stepping off the elevator will leave you in shock
and give you a heartwarming feel. The inside is filled with
light sticks hanging from each the ceilings at each table The
long windows allow the natural light and enhanced the
beauty. With quickness you will be seated by 2 hostesses who
will then introduce themselves in a welcoming manner. No
worries if you have extra guests on the way the hostesses will
show them exactly where they need to be.

Not a couple minutes after being seated a waiter will have

approached the table to ask what kind of water or drinks you
may like. The menu has exaggerated names which can be
very confusing. However, if you ask for more time the waiter
will patiently wait and offer some advice on their specialties. Looking
through the classic menu the melon drink ($13-14) seemed to be the most
appetizing. Although it looked pretty, it was not very inviting. The taste was
very bitter and not sweet. Nevertheless, you do have the option to get
another drink.

As a starter the Milk bread with honey butter ($10) is a popular option. The
bread was round, warm, moistened and sweet. The Milk bread is a great
choice to have an idea on what is to come next.

For the appetizer, the lamb rigatoni ($23) is a considerable choice. The
bowl is and prepares you for the main course. The rigatoni was flavored
well and was served at the perfect temperature. As for the Entrée, the Lamb
Loin ($53) is one of the restaurants specialties. The smoked lamb belly was
a little undercooked and did not have much flavor to it. Nevertheless, it was
still eatable and fulfilling.

Apart from the exaggerated names for some of the foods and drinks, the
restaurant is top tier. The portion size was more than enough for the price
and the unique American taste. The views added on to make the experience
more exquisite.

Described by Steve Cuozzo as a better option for modern American food in

the city, this place certainly has a lot to offer. The preconceived notion
about “pretty restaurants” not having a huge selection of food is put to the
test. Journalist Florence Fabricant, discloses there is not only a wonderful
view but also a sophisticated yet accessible menu.

All in all, if you are looking for a place with speechless views and
mouthwatering food, I would certainly recommend this restaurant. There
is great service within the staff and the food comes in minutes. The menu
can be confusing at times but there is plenty of help. The food is astonishing
and brings a distinctive taste to American cuisine.

If the restaurant made the menu less exaggerated, then this place would be
perfect. Overall, the experience is worth great excitement.
