EXPERIENCE

Early doc. fellow (Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi)

October 2021-present

Project is focused on development of functionally graded material through thermal spray

processes.

Ph. D. student (Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi)

July 2017- October 2021

Thesis is entitled “Development and Severe Plastic Deformation of Novel Hybrid Mg based
Metal Matrix Composites”. My research was focused on in-situ development of magnesium
based hybrid nano composites through stir casting process. Research work has been
summarized as follows:

• Development of nano ceria particles in magnesium melt through chemical route.

• Optimizing process parameters (temperature of melt and concentration of precursor)
to control the size and distribution of in-situ developed ceramics.
• High temperature plastic deformation of composites.
• Characterization (mechanical, tribology and corrosion) of as cast and forged
composites.
• Establishing microstructure property correlation through analytical models and
proposing novel GNDs generation model.
• Using machine learning to correlate microstructure and property for the forged
composites.
Projects during PhD:

• Failure analysis of catenary wire (Indian Railways project).

• Effect of graphene reinforcement on Si growth in eutectic Al-Si alloy.
• Development of ceria doped alumina coatings on AZ91 alloy and exploring its
corrosion response for implant applications.

Master Student (Indian Institute of Technology, Ropar)

July 2015- July 2017

Thesis is entitled “Corrosion Resistant Superhydrophobic Coating for Metallic Surfaces”.

The research was focused on development of randomly textured PTFE-ceria composite
coating on highly porous thermal sprayed metal.
Involvement in other research activities:

• Simulation of cold spray process (Abaqus: particle deformation).

• Fabrication and characterization of friction stir processed boiler steel (SA 210).
Maintenance Engineer (National Engineering Industry, Jaipur)

July 2012- Aug 2014

I worked as machine maintenance engineer at NEI, Jaipur. I had following job

responsibilities:

• Breakdown and preventive maintenance of Centerless grinding, race grinding and

honing machines.
• Establishing 5S at allotted production line.
