Route of Entry:
Inhalation: Vapours of CBFS can be inhaled especially when it is hot.
Skin Contact / Skin Absorption: Causes irritation and skin burning and redness.
Eye Contact: Causes irritation and acute allergic Inflammation of the eyes, sclera and the
cornea.
Effects of Exposure/Symptoms
Acute Exposure: When hot, it may cause burns and release toxic gasses. Vapours cause
irritation to the eyes, nose and throat. Avoid contact with skin and eyes when it is hot.
Chronic Exposure: May cause chronic Bronchitis on chronic inhalation.
Emergency Treatment:
Eyes: causes irritation to eyes. Wash with water and apply anti-allergic drops. If irritation
persists seek medical attention
Skin: Causes skin irritation. Wash with copious amounts of fluids and administer anti-
inflammatory, antiallergic drugs. For severe burns, seek medical attention.
FIRE Special Procedures: Flammable. Keep away from spark, flame & heat.
Hot CBFS may cause burn. Use protective clothing. Use dry sand for spilled liquid.
SPILLS Steps to be taken: Contain covering with sand. Eliminate sparks, flames and all
source of ignition.
Personal precautions
Wear self-contained breathing apparatus when entering area unless atmosphere is proved to
be safe. Evacuate area. Ensure adequate air ventilation. Eliminate ignition sources.
Environmental precautions
Try to stop release. Prevent from entering sewers, basements and workpits, or any place
where its accumulation can be dangerous.
Clean up methods
Ventilate area.

Chronic Exposure: May cause chronic Bronchitis on chronic inhalation.
Hand protection: Wear protective gloves. Use protective gloves made of:
Polyethylene/Ethylene Vinyl Alcohol (PE/EVAL). In the molten form wear appropriate heat
resistant gloves.

Eye protection: Wear full-face visor or shield. For the molten form: A face shield is
recommended.
Other Protection: Provide eyewash station. Wear full body industrial type work clothing,
including chemical resistant boots.
Hygiene measures: Promptly remove any clothing that becomes contaminated. Wash
promptly if skin becomes contaminated. Wash hands at the end of each work shift and
before eating, smoking and using the toilet. When using do not eat, drink or smoke.
Contaminated clothing to be placed in closed container until disposal or decontamination.
Warn cleaning personnel of chemical's hazardous properties.
Skin protection: When handling the product at elevated temperatures: Wear appropriate
heat resistant clothing.
Thermal hazards: The molten product can cause serious burns.
