Service details:

General endocrinology and transgender hormone therapy

The Hormone Therapy procedure begins with running labs for the patient, preceding the course
of either testosterone or estrogen treatments

MTF - Feminizing Therapy:

The feminizing hormone therapy begins by prescribing a diuretic, spironolactone to block male
sex hormone receptors and restrict testosterone production in the body. After a 6-8 week period,
patients will begin taking the estrogen hormone to decrease testosterone levels and begin
feminization.

FTM - Masculinizing Therapy:

Patients take an initial dose of testosterone in the beginning stages in order to start reducing
estrogen levels in the body. This dosage is then followed by a regimen of testosterone taken as
a pill, injected or in skin preparations.
Our process for GAHT may be similar because most people begin taking hormone therapy
treatments with an adjusted dosage of either testosterone and estrogen. When the initial dosage
to reduce hormone receptors in the body is taken, the patients begin the treatment regimen.

The regional price for this service is $119. Patients undergo a series of labs before beginning
the hormone regimen. Hormones are administered at dosages adjusted based on the patient's
goals and expectations for treatment. Doctors monitor the patient's transition process
throughout the regimen.
