Sample Outreach Letter:

Dear ______,

This year, on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 the Engineering Alumni Network Board is participating
in #GivingDayUMD, a global day of giving to support University of Maryland students and faculty
who create solutions to everyday issues. In the spirit of this event, the Engineering Alumni
Network Board has established an endowed fund to provide annual scholarships for
undergraduate Engineering students entering their junior or senior year. The scholarship will be
awarded to students who fulfill leadership roles such as: Engineering Alumni Network student
ambassadors, active officers in campus student societies and organizations, leaders of Alumni
Cup and other design competition teams, or Clark School mentors.

We need your help to reach our pledge goal of $25,000. We ask that you make a commitment
to support Clark student leaders who demonstrate financial need by making a gift to the
Engineering Alumni Network Leadership Scholarship fund. Your gift has the power to transform
the life of a dedicated student leader, and support the mission of the Clark School of
Engineering.
