Final Project
Position Paper

Technology in schools is important, it creates way to keep students focus and to help

them adjust to the world outside of the classroom. There are many reasons why teachers and staff

oppose having technology of any kind in the classroom, but there’s also many reasons why to

keep and to encourage technology.

Students use technology in their daily lives anyways. Whether they’re 2 years old, or 18

years old, they have access to the internet. Why not take advantage of the case, and create a fun

learning environment online? Creating programs that are easy to use can encourage students to

enjoy school a lot more than just reading textbooks.

During the years 2020, we all suffered through a global pandemic, that caused 96% of

schools in the U.S. to shut down and continue instruction through online remote classes (Covid-

19. It was a year that will never be forgotten. Amongst that year, many students experienced

what was their hardest school year of a lifetime. Technology was there for many schools and

many children. We went through a whole pandemic and while dealing with what was the

unfortunate death of millions of people, the school district was still able to provide a proper

education and assist them through zoom calls or google meets.

It was an impossible ask, for teacher and student to switch from their comfort zone into

the world of technology, and with a lot of mistakes, and many changes that came with the switch,

we were able to adapt to the online world. When looking in the outside world, anywhere you

look is surrounded by technology and its inventions. From portable computers like cell phones, it

is easy to connect to anyone at any time. Regarding school, this allowed student to complete

assignment and enter class in any place at any time.

Thanks to today’s modern technology those students who were taking some type of class

during the pandemic, were allowed to continue their work and lectures without having toi miss a

class or having to repeat a year. Those seniors of 2020 were able to \complete their work from

home and still walk the stage for their families. It has been a rough couple of years, but this

technology we have has made it easy for everyone to continue their work and still go on with

their lives.

Taking the technology away from the school, will only cause students to hide their

technologies rather than use them for research and group work. It will create a whole new system

of learning and confuse those little ones who came in learning directly from a screen. After covid

19 in 2020, it is impossible for the world to go back to only paper and pens. We have adapted to

it and should take advantage of it in any way possible.

It has a shiny golden star. In the end I like all Christmas trees but I like this one
