Yale Young Global Scholars

An official Yale University program, participants in the Yale Young Global Scholars Program for
Outstanding High School Students can expect an amazing summer experience studying in

The Yale Young Global Scholars Program is a very selective leadership-development program for

Living on the Yale campus for two weeks during the summer, students in the program:

Duke Summer Academy for High School Students

HOBY Advanced Leadership Academy

"HOBY’s Advanced Leadership Academy (ALA) is a program for any U.S. or international high
school junior or senior (ages 16-18 at the time of the program and have completed their junior or
senior year of high school). Students are not required to have participated in other HOBY
programming to be eligible to participate in the ALA.

Through the HOBY Advanced Leadership Academy, participants: Understand and develop
themselves along the seven dimensions of the Social Change Model of Leadership (SCM) and how
they work together to accomplish the eighth dimension, change; Use Gallup’s Clifton
StrengthsFinder ™ assessment to identify and understand their own strengths and capabilities;
Create a project action plan to lead and implement a service project or social enterprise in their
home communities within one year following the ALA; Meet new people and establish an ongoing
network of peers, other leaders and social entrepreneurs; and Earn college credit from George Mason
University.

Bank of America Charitable Foundation’s Student Leaders® Program

The Bank of America Charitable Foundation’s Student Leaders® Program is accepting


applications for the Student Leaders® program. In light of your affiliation with youth programs,
we would like your help spreading the word.

Since its inception in 2005, the Bank of America Student Leaders Program has recognized more
than 2,200 exemplary high school juniors and seniors who have a passion for improving their
communities. The program helps students gain a greater understanding of how nonprofits create
impact in the community and helps develop them as the next generation of community leaders
through two components:

- A summer eight-week paid internship with a nonprofit organization selected by the bank.
This internship is designed to provide opportunities for the students to develop and apply
leadership skills through hands-on work experience, while raising their awareness of
community issues addressed by their Host Organization.

- The week-long, all-expense paid Student Leaders Summit is in Washington, D.C..


Conducted in partnership with the Close Up Foundation, the Summit introduces students
to aspects of civic, social and business leadership and provides them with knowledge and

USC Summer Programs extends a tradition of excellence to outstanding high school students

AMDA Summer Programs


Intensive Performing Arts Training in a College Environment for High School Students

Our unique program offers a transformative experience for talented high school students looking
to immerse themselves in the performing arts. This summer, teens from all over the world will
study, train, rehearse, perform and live on AMDA’s New York City and Los Angeles campuses.
The rigorous curriculum is taught by a world-class faculty of artists who offer students
professional-level training in acting, singing and dance.

AMDA's Summer Conservatory empowers young artists to choose their own path within our three
performing arts disciplines. Residential and commuter programs in NYC and LA are open to all
talented high school students completing grades 8-12.

School of the Museum of Fine Arts Boston


The SMFA Pre-College Program is a rigorous summer program for high school students interested in
the visual arts. The core of the curriculum centers around an interdisciplinary approach, combining
studio work, critique and discussion, building a solid foundation of artistry, conceptualization and
technical skills.

Students from a variety of backgrounds and countries spend four weeks on SMFA's campus, utilizing
the studios, working with expert faculty and graduate mentors, building their portfolios, exploring the
Museum of Fine Arts and Boston's cultural and historic landmarks. Graduates of the program can earn
up to four college credits towards undergraduate study at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts

FSU Young Scholars Program


The Young Scholars Program (YSP) is a six-week residential science and mathematics summer
program for Florida high school students with significant potential for careers in the fields of
science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. The program was developed in 1983 and is
currently administered by the Office of Science Teaching Activities in the College of Arts and
Sciences at Florida State University.

Eligibility:

The program is designed for students who have completed the eleventh grade in a Florida public
or private high school. A few exceptionally qualified and mature tenth graders have been selected
in past years, though this is quite rare.

To be considered for acceptance, applicants must:

 Maintain at least a 3.0 GPA (unweighted)


 Have received a score in the 90th percentile or better in math on a nationally standardized
exam (i.e., SAT, PSAT, ACT, or PLAN) before the application deadline
 Be enrolled in or have completed Pre-Calculus
 Be able to commit for the entire six weeks of the program (no exceptions will be made for
travel to other summer internship opportunities, sports camps, Mu Alpha Theta, etc.)
 Maintain a permanent residence in the state of Florida

Engineering Summer Academy at Penn


The Engineering Summer Academy at Penn (ESAP) welcomes highly motivated and talented
students to explore Engineering at the college level. The Academy’s intensive, three-week
programs combine sophisticated theory with hands-on practical experience in cutting edge
technologies. Work with leading faculty, live on Penn’s historic campus, and connect with new
friends from around the world.

The School of Engineering at the University of Pennsylvania offers a unique opportunity for a
selective group of highly motivated and talented high school students to experience rigorous and
challenging college-level coursework. The Academy’s intensive, three-week programs combine
sophisticated theory with hands-on practical experience in cutting edge technologies such as
biotechnology, computer graphics, computer science, nanotechnology, robotics, or engineering

Girls Who Code


The Girls Who Code Summer Immersion Program is a 7-week computer science course that
embeds classrooms in technology companies and universities. Students learn the
fundamentals of computer science - from robotics to how to build a webpage - while gaining
exposure to the tech industry and mentorship from women working in technology.

Key programmatic components of the Girls Who Code Immersion Program include:

 Skills – Seven weeks of intensive instruction in computer science, robotics, algorithms, web
design, and mobile development
 Exposure – Speakers, demos, workshops, and presentations from female engineers and
entrepreneurs; field trips to technology companies, startups, academic institutions and more
 Mentorship – Top female executives, entrepreneurs and engineers provide career and
academic mentorship

Princeton Journalism Summer Program
The Princeton Summer Journalism Program is a paid-for journalism and college preparation
program for high school student journalists from low-income backgrounds at Princeton
University. The program’s goal is to diversify college and professional newsrooms by
encouraging outstanding students from low-income backgrounds to pursue careers in journalism.

Classes at the program are taught by reporters and editors from The New York Times, The
Washington Post, The New Yorker, The Daily Beast, Time, National Journal, New York
Magazine, The New Republic, ESPN the Magazine, CNN and NPR, among other media outlets.
Students meet with numerous Princeton professors, as well as Princeton’s president and
admissions officers. They report an investigative story, cover a professional sports event,
produce a TV segment, and publish their own newspaper. And they receive guidance on the
college admissions process not only during the 10 days of the program, but also during the fall of
their senior year of high school.

To be eligible for the program, students must meet the following qualifications:
- Must currently be juniors in high school.

- Must live in the United States.
- Must have at least an unweighted 3.5 grade point average (out of 4.0).

- Must have an interest in journalism.

- Must have combined income of their custodial parent(s)/guardian(s) plus child support
payments, if any, must not exceed $45,000.
