Notes: -
2
 F1~F29 are accessible by user without restriction .
 F60~F99 are restricted functions which request a password or on board jumper to access.
Refer to 2.3 for details. These functions are for dealer and authorized personnel only and all
settings to these functions are monitored and recorded by the built-in trailer counts.

means no password control. To enable password control, go to F60 and input any 4-digit password other than
0000.

If entering a restricted internal function (F60 ~ F99) by password is not allowed, set the setup & calibration control
jumper to B & C (refer to 2.3 for details). After calibration and settings, place this jumper back to calibration disable
position (A & B), otherwise, this instrument will not function.

14
6. Calibration Methods & Procedures
6.1 Calibration Weight
To ensure accurate calibration result, only standard weights should be used for calibration. Make sure that all the
mass of the standard weights used is within maximum permissible error (mpe) of the weight class. Class IV standard
weights are not suggested for calibration.

6.2 Warm up time

a. Allow a warm up period of not less than 60 seconds before calibration. The higher the setup
resolution, the longer the warm up period is required. In most cases, 120 seconds is considered
as a safe warm up period for all applications.
b. This warm up period is needed to energy all components to reach a stable status.
c. To read the internal AD count value, enter internal function F1. The internal AD count value of a
not yet fully energized PCB will go up continuously.
d. The internal count value is deemed stable when the internal AD count varies less than 5 counts
within 2 seconds.

6.3 Calibration Control Jumper

F60 ~ F99 are restricted internal functions which are protected by password and setup & calibration control jumper.
Enter a correct password when “P ----“appears. Default password = 0000 (no password control)

6.4 User Calibration (F99)

1. Require 1 calibration loading point.
2. Is recommended for end user (if end user is allowed to do calibration).
3. Is used to fine tune the accuracy of the instrument (e.g. after long distance re-allocation or a long
period of usage).
4. User calibration will not re-write linear compensation formula built by linearity calibration.
5. A fixed calibration sequence must be matched: -
a. First = zero Calibration (No Load)
b. Second = Span calibration

6.5 User Calibration Procedure

1. Goto F99.
2. Enter password if prompted, then press [Print / M+].
3. Instrument displays noload.
4. Remove all loads from platform, then press [Print / M+].
5. Instrument displays the value of user calibration load.
 Note: - At this point, zero calibration is done. Press [Zero] to quit or continue with the below
procedures for span calibration.
6. Press [Print / M+] to accept or if a different load is used, enter through numeric keys and press [Print /
M+].
 Note: - It is recommended 50% ~ 100% of Max (or Max2 for dual weighing range or dual
weighing interval) should be used for user calibration.
7. Instrument displays Load
8. Apply calibration load which weight equals to point f. Wait until Stable Indicator appears then press [Print /
M+].

Notes: -
 In case of password is used: - Instrument starts countdown. Instrument is ready for operation
after countdown.

15
 In case of calibration control jumper: - Instrument displays JP on. Power off instrument, place
back the calibration jumper to calibration disable position. Then power on again, instrument is
ready for operation after countdown process.
 As protection, should the calculated result obtained through user calibration vary more than
1% as of the result generated by F89, user calibration result will be rejected and error
message will be displayed.

6.6 Dealer Calibration (F89)

Dealer calibration is used to calibrate the instrument and at the same time to build a linearity compensation

8. Commands4
Commands are used to set or ask system parameters or to force system to execute certain action. These
commands can be sent to this instrument from computer through any standard communication program.

By means of system parameter commands through another computer which is connected to this instrument, remote
diagnosis, repair and recovery is possible.

8.1 Command Types

There are 4 types of commands: -
a. Keyboard commands,
b. System parameter inquiry commands,
c. System parameter setting commands, and
d. Execution commands.
Refer to Appendix A to D for details of the above command types.

8.2 Command Formats

Command format for above 4 command types as below: -
a. Hex code 0D (ASCII code $0D), then followed by
b. Hex code 0A (LF) (ASCII code $0A) then followed by
c. Command code listed on Appendix A to D, then followed by
d. Hex code 20 (ASCII code $20).

9. Sealing Position & Data Plate
To fulfil the approval requirements, this instrument has to be properly sealed. Refer to the below sealing diagram for
sealing position and method.

Information on Data Plate

To fulfil the approval requirements, the following data must be marked on the data plate: -
a. Maximum Capacity (Max) for single weighing range or Max 1 & Max2 in case of dual weighing
range.
b. Minimum capacity (Min) for single weighing range or Min1 & Min2 in case of dual weighing
range/interval.
c. Verification scale interval (e) or actual scale interval (d) or for single weighing range or e1, e2, d1,
d2 in case of dual weighing range/interval.
d. Calibration count & Parameter count. Both calibration count and parameter count values can be
checked by internal function F29.

19
10. Appendix A: - Keyboard Commands
Keyboard commands can be sent to this instrument from computer through any standard communication program to
simulate keyboard entries.

To enable Keyboard commands, connect the external peripheral which generates keyboard commands to Comport
2 and set Comport 2 to CMD. Keyboard Command format as below: -
a. Hex code 0D (CR), then followed by
b. Hex code 0A (LF) then followed by
c. Letter shown on below illustration diagram (keyboard commands are case sensitive), then
followed by
d. Space (Hex code 20)
