FLOOR PLANS (SCALE 1” = 8’)

At Story District, speakers present their life stories for the world to hear and see, often in the form of live performances. This
building - their new headquarters - seeks to give speakers a venue to effectively share their stories, and seeks to give listen-
ers the chance to share stories of their own. Separation of private from public space, a full-height atrium with an iconic shelf
wall, and an inviting facade create this opportunity.

The layered facade of the building, combined with its sheltering overhang, serve as an invitation to enter the space. The shaft
of light from above, combined with the striking image of the wall of books rising up, draw the viewer up into the space
where they can be enlightened by speakers’ stories. Pass by the offices of the staff who work to make each story happen, and
reach the scenic overlook at the top. Reflect a moment, and look back at the world you left. How might you change it?
