Quadratic Equation
The word "Quadratic" is derived from the word "Quad" which means square. In

other words, a quadratic equation is an “equation of degree 2.

The quadratic equations are second-degree equations in x that have two

answers for x. These two answers for x are also called the roots of the quadratic

equations and are designated as (α, β).

What is Quadratic Equation?

A quadratic equation is an algebraic expression of the second degree in x.

The quadratic equation in its standard form is ax2 + bx + c = 0, where

 a, b are the coefficients

 x is the variable

 c is the constant term

For example: 6x2+11x-35=0

Factorization:

Factoring is often the quickest and most straightforward way of solving a quadratic

problem. In mathematics, factoring is the process of identifying expressions that may

be multiplied together to produce the expression on one side of a mathematical

equation.

For example, let’s factor the number 12:

12 = 6 x 2 or

12 = 3 x 4 or

12 = 2 x 2 x 3

What is the purpose of factorization?

It may be used for a variety of purposes, including assisting with mathematical

operations.

Consider the following example: 15 x 8 Factor 15 and 8:

15 = 3 x 5 = 15

Eight is two times four.

We are now grouping the elements together to make it simpler for us to multiply

them.

(2 x 5) x (3 x 4) = 10 x 12 = 120 (2 x 5) x (3 x 4) = 240

Another technique to utilise factorization is to identify the least common

multiple and largest common factor, which are both derived from the same

factor. However, in order to do this, factorization must be performed using prime

numbers. Prime factorization is the term used to describe this process.

Methods of solving Quadratic Equation:

There are three methods to solve quadratic equations:

1. Factoring:

Factoring is a common approach for solving quadratic equations.

Finding expressions that can be multiplied together to yield the other side

of the problem is factoring.

A quadratic equation that can be factored is expressed as a linear

product. The zero-product property asserts that if a.b=0, then a=0 and

b=0.

2. Completing Square:

When solving a quadratic equation, the technique of completing the

square is to algebraically square and simplify the problem in order to

acquire the needed roots of the equation.

3. Quadratic Formula:

The Quadratic Formula is the easiest approach to find quadratic

roots. Certain quadratic equations cannot be factorized, hence we may

utilize this quadratic formula to obtain the roots quickly. The roots of the

quadratic equation also assist calculate the sum and product of the roots.

The quadratic formula's two roots are provided as one equation. The

positive and negative signs may be utilized to determine the equation's

two separate roots.

Quadratic Formula = [-b ± √(b² - 4ac)]/2a
