Dear Sir,

This has reference to BSP’s e-mail dated 13.04.2022 regarding the increase in quantities for item i.e.
“Supply of structural steel e.g. angles, channels, anchors etc for erection of refractory material as per
drawings/specification” under the subject package and requested MECON to offer comments on the
increase in quantities. In this regard it may please be noted that the package is awarded after RPN of
earlier package i.e Pkg-131. The estimation of BOQ for the Pkg-131A-5 has been done on the basis of the
available drawings and the left out work of package 131. Since the execution of other packages in BOF &
CCP area of SMS-III was already in full swing and also the complete drawings were not available at the
time of finalization of BPQ for PKG-31A5.

In view of above the estimated quantities for item i.e. “Supply of structural steel e.g. angles, channels,
anchors etc for erection of refractory material as per drawings/specification’ was on lower side.
However the actual quantity as per drawings and as informed by BSP as 25 ton is in order.
